I graduated from Airborne School in summer 1973 with a Citadel cadet, and he was a terrific guy. I wish the Fightin' Texas Aggies and the Citadel Corps folks could get together more........ great schools, great programs. That first year, tough as it is, is WORTH IT.
My son grauated the Citadel in 2008. He is now a major. IF they can make it through, the Citadel is worth the pain and the money. Great school. And, if you have problems, the school will work with you.
I am so proud of my cousin Ansley, good work on becoming 2nd Battalion Commander for this upcoming year. Good work cuz, don’t go to hard on everyone else!
@@icatchsmallfish2150 Well, because of COVID, we didn’t get to experience all of it. We had it earlier in the morning and there weren’t any spectators. We also didn’t have any of the parades or anything. Just the workout. Really sucked but it is what it is.
@@kadenkester Absolutely. As a junior now, I can tell you that it is definitely worth the experience. It’ll suck at time, especially your knob year, but it’s just what you need to get your life straight and get the connections and abilities to proceed with your future goals. As for becoming a Marine officer, the college has one of the top Marine programs in the country, and I can speak from personal experience that it is exceptional as I was in the unit for a time (had to drop due to medical reasons).
Hey, if you're out of state it will be more expensive, but there are many ways. If you're planning on doing ROTC they do scholarships for that, you can also apply for other regular scholarships (I'm sure you've started.) You'll have to look on their website to find out what other types of scholarships they have (they have a couple, I know.) If nothing else you can do loans and the FAFSA and ROTC for the scholarship but you'll have to serve, not a bad idea if you ask me. Hope everything works out!
Clark Rivers I know that! I was poking some fun at my family that graduated from there over the last three years. Three brothers one after another. A seven year span of Knob to nutcases!
Google The Citadel Military Academy Admissions. First link should give you info. You can go down to Charleston and request a tour in Admissions (scheduled or walk-in, doesn’t matter. But its better to call ahead and schedule it). Cadets give the tours and they’ll answer as many questions as they can. They are honest too. If you’re a junior you have plenty of time to figure the details out.
My son’s too. He just got his acceptance letter last night. Class of 2024. It was Citadel or enlist as air force (medic) so we were supportive either way, but really excited he got in the Citadel.
Bear in mind, these guys just came in... they've got 4+ years of training to go. You said it yourself: they're FUTURE commissioned officers. Come on, man.
Those tears are not produced because of this smoke sesh, they have nothing to do with the PT that just occurred. They, however, have everything to do with the hell that these young men and women endured for an entire 9 months. You obviously have no understanding of what these knobs just accomplished in this video-a current knob
I don't think you understand exactly what they go through. They get 2 hours of sleep every night, eat little to nothing for EVERY meal. Why would you ever say that shit man
+MakeitDont08 This is probably the dumbest comment I've ever read. It wasn't a "slight" smoke session. It was three times longer than Army Basic Training. And they aren't crying because they got smoked, they're crying because they never have to get smoked again.
This is vanity, putting a body through such crap to prove.......what? In the end, the body breaks down and you have to use ‘depends’ in the end . Know how does your brilliant military training work when you’re soiling your bed sheets because you were loyal to the Cause. What crap!

I've had my acceptance letter for about two months now, and I can't wait to be at The Citadel!
Gabe Mueller How is it??
Oh my God...I know you
Just got my acceptance letter today, how is it?
Exaotic I got my acceptance letter in September, guess I’ll see you there!
Uh, huh!
Just a few more months until I experience this. It’ll be one of the greatest moments of my life.
How was it haha

I can't wait to see my brother this weekend!!
Class of 2026! Can’t wait to start this journey!
We need to have a space version of Citadel
Who else went to look at this after reading Lords of Discipline?
Trying to decide between the Military College of Georgia (UNG) and the Military College of South Carolina (The Citadel). Any advice?
Just a follow up, I ended up here at The Citadel. Dying slowly, but embracing the suck.
Montele Adams What's it like?
Kevin Campbell It sucks and it slowly grinds your existence down into ash. But you learn to enjoy the pain of everyday life eventually.
Montele Adams i. Am 13 and am dreaming to go to the citadel any advice? Im in ROTC
Daniel Goller Focus on your academics. The Citadel is an expensive institution and you're gonna need a scholarship if you wanna come here.
"It's not to late to quit...."
I know people who went there and thought they made a huge mistake and ended up quitting.
I hope to attend beginning in the fall of 2019
You and I should be there together then. I'm attending in the fall as well.
I just got my acceptance letter today.

Same brother, I can’t wait.
what are the female hair requirements? do we have to chop it all off
+Natalia Perdomo your hair gets cut to your sholders then put in a bun
even the freshmen?
yes that's for everything that has to do with the armed forces
Oh okay, thanks!
+Natalia Perdomo no as knobs you have to cut your hair short not all the way off like the dudes but how the females are wearing it in the video!
Hey, wait a minute! It's dark outside and they're doing push-ups?
that's because it's 0530 in the morning before the sun is even up
Clark Rivers I know that! I was poking some fun at my family that graduated from there over the last three years. Three brothers one after another. A seven year span of Knob to nutcases!
Hahaha well that's awesome, I'll actually be starting my knob year this fall so I guess in 4 years I'll be one of those nutcases haha
Clark Rivers You'll love it every bit AFTER Knob year! It might be fun seeing you do the fast walk. Eyes ahead, and speaking only when spoken to.
Terry Badger Will do, I'm excited and nervous at the same time, so I just want to hurry up and get it over with
Just got my acceptance letteron November 30th!
I'm a junior now. How do I apply for this College

Ondre' 3000 before you apply you should read The Lords Of Discipline by Pat Conroe.

This is my son dream school👍🏼👍🏼

oh no... i dont think so...
Why are they crying?
Lely Chan it's a significant moment. They're happy to reach that point
They in alot of pain and its almost over
Why are they crying from a slight smokefest? Future Commissioned officers.....
Upsetting!
Bear in mind, these guys just came in... they've got 4+ years of training to go. You said it yourself: they're FUTURE commissioned officers. Come on, man.

Love the pain
