My home State! And despite there being several mountain ranges in the State the AT crosses a very small part of the State. It's not thought about much today but the Hudson River was a significant barrier between New England and the Mid Atlantic until the Bear Mountain Bridge was built in 1924 and it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at that time.
