Thanks for the truck engine sounds. That is the best part of having a cdl. I too have a bed and chair hogging dog and I too have to sit on the floor sometimes. Dogs are truly man's best friend. Keep on trucking.
You’re a credit to the profession my friend. True professional. And a helluva dog “dad”. Smooth ,no rush , easy going shifting. Never hard on the truck. Not many like you left Great videos , takes me back to my days on the road. I could listen to that W900 all day long. .
When I would go home I.would need to have a recording of my truck idoling just so I could sleep. We had some angle dandruff here Wednesday night. Didn't last long. Now it is 61.
Hey Kurt I really love the fact that you take the time to show the truck moving stuff like that it's kind of like the old school trucking movies. BTW greetings from the Great basin highway, highway 93 Nevada 🚛🇺🇸❤️
I got my best sleep when idling. I had a hard time when I stopped running over the road. Had to take something to knock me out. Some days I miss being out there. Stay safe
Super dooper! I keep a photo copy of IFTA, registration, insurance, stapled and up in the visor. They see that and presents we have it together. The master copies are in the permit book I leave in the truck and tell them I can get it if they want, never had to.
Yes God is good living in South Florida all the storms hurricanes technology we know when they are coming God bless our friends and family that live in hurricane la some things we can't change God bless
You don’t wanna get to an inspection and get peenalized. Love the Hound.looks ferocious. I love idling sleep. Where we live gots to worry about who’s pulling in the lot.Especially with meat load.
Forgot to add a scale story I had. I hauled non-ferrous metal loads on an open trailer. Never thought to weigh the loads, trusted the warehouse that loaded the truck. Pulled onto the scale . Next I heard a voice asking if I ate supper? I asked why and heard a chuckle and he read the weight. I was 79,997 pounds gross. Wow, I replied " no wonder the truck felt a little bit sluggish". He chuckled again and sent me on my way. I am always polite to those guys, they are just doing a job, just like me.
That truck stop was not open very long after it opened maybe couple yrs then closed hasn't been open for at least 6 or 7 yrs, I didn't realize it had opened again be safe.
I worked at (ODOT) Oregon Department of Transportation in the procurement office. We bid and installed weight in motion at our scale stations. I guest that doesn’t cover log books etc. it probably doesn’t cover what you experienced at that weight station.
Scalehouse experience is varied... Depends on the State, and the person running any particular scale... If they were fighting with the wife this morning and they're in a crappy mood, it can be rough. If they are cheerful, good mood, willing to give a little slack, much better.
Great video! First Class never looked better! Enjoy that weather. Weather not so great out west here in Wyoming and Montana right now. Stay safe and Merry Christmas!!
Glad you have had a good week . So sorry to hear about the people south of you that were impacted by the tornadoes Friday night, Be safe. Love those passing scores on the DOT inspection. Keep up the great job you are doing.
Those sleepers can really be nice during a gentle rain. Better to be running cool than too hot. I knew you would pass inspection. Trying to keep the roads safe. We had a patrol car hit by a semi that crossed the fog line on the interstate near me. No one hurt but I still can't understand how someone cannot see 2 patrol cars with full lights going. Went from heavy rain and thunderstorms to ice and snow within an hour here in WI. So many places didn't fair very well. Good to see you safe at home. Stay safe and God bless.
In a 6 week period I was pulled into the scales for inspections 6 times between Minnesota and Tennessee, after asking for the stickers to show I had passed, and recieving rude answers I finally got a sticker on the 6th inspection, my company paid me 300 dollars for passing all the inspections. Always kept my Logs and Binder of paperwork immaculate and orderly, the worst thing you want to do is go inside with a bag of smashed, coffee stained or torn and folded paperwork.
It's not the old person. it's the immature person. It's the person inside who wants the law to apply to everybody else in the world but never themselves.
Hey just catching up on video, great content and I'm with you on the dot, we got somewhere around 20 inches of the white stuff in Hastings MN,as always Kurt stay safe. Just started my week, heading to Vancouver and Seattle.
Hi Opie and Kurt Fantastic video again, I don’t comment all the time, just love the way Opie looks at you, he knows every damn word you say to him. If I am in the woods with my shepherd, I never pick up if I’m of the beaten track, like you Kurt, I always pick up and bin it. Once again great video Kurt, please tell Opie he’s great in the video also. Kind regards from Scotland Johnny
Porter greetings! Yahoo! 😎 The highway scenery was quite beautiful…then came the interstate. 😳I love backroads sometimes…all the beautiful scenery and such. 🤩 I think everyone gets a little nervous when they say, Driver, please pull in. Who wants to be detained even for 20 minutes or so for that, but they are doing their jobs, and hopefully nothing more. Well, what else did ya find out about your heat…tap on that thermostat a couple of times and see if that changes anything…oh, don’t use the big hammer! LOL! 🧐 I like your cereal…for the big kid in you!! 🤩 Stay safe and we’ll keep you in prayer, as always. Hey, I pray for you and your family every day!! If that means anything. I just wanted you to know because I don’t want you to ever be discouraged about that. That’s what friends do, ya know! Enjoy the ride!! 🥰🇺🇸✌️
We're already driving slow and it's frustrating when they have that option to stop us if they want to. It works be best if they can just scan it while your in your seat. Have nothing to hide, just don't want to be any slower.
You are lucky as i am sure you know.... idling kills the new stuff faster. At night when i hear "every noise" i turn on 10 hours of rain and thunderstorms for noise. When iI was growing up in the country i would pull the canvas covered tent top pop up camper out on the driveway turn around to sleep all summer. Nothing better than rain and thunder to tell you all it right with the world...luckily my protector saw fit not to let that old camper grow wings in a few of those storms. I guess it is all in what you get familiar with.
When you said sometimes when you idle your truck and you're sleeping at night you're in your own little world. Did you mean "you're in your own private Idaho" Waiting waiting waiting Did you place the 8 inch pipes on or was they already on?
I'm interested in how you find your sleeping spots as compared to other truckers - you always seem to find pretty empty lots with space for Opie and all we hear about from others is how there's zero parking
That was a great video.as always but at the end an the backyard was great with jack plaing with the ball its like dude opie you have not been here all week an i have been playing ball by myself 😆
1995 Ky scales south of Evansville In. Got pulled in there and one guy was freaking out later. DOT cop looked at me, asked if they had hurt me in any way. I laughed and told them nope just being the $#%& your paid to be. I kid you not that other guy was about to have a heart attack. Because he got called in. I did get a ticket that day. But it was on the Company. That other guy got shut down. Towed away as I was leaving. Not sure what he did or had on the truck. But his day was for sure a bad one.
Some companies have a Pre-Pass in the trucks. If you get the green light you just keep on going. I think the states charge you about a dollar for each time you don't have to stop.
You got off easy Kurt. Years ago I'd come home from Denver empty.....every week....same ol' same ol' routine. We lived & ran out of Kansas, yet EVERY week...the little old ladies at the Kanorado, Ks (population 150 +/-) P.O.E. would call us in to see our paperwork.....EVERY stinkin' week! That's ridiculous! I got tired of it and mentioned how we were doing the same ol' same ol' ....every week, it's the same thing, yet EVERY week they'd call me in. I'd ask "What is the problem??" She said "young man we're just doing our job! We see hundreds of trucks every day...we can't remember everyone'' It wasn't long before they got just as tired of me, as I was of them. Soon I started getting the green light......they never pulled me in after that.
I got an warning on my log book they checked everything on my rig the brakes and lights and both horns the little horn on the steering wheel sounded cute it sounded just like the one on my tinny car the blow horn was louder
I was thinking that Trucking with Opie would be a better name for this channel but how about Opie's Trucking Channel?? with a credit (in small letters) for the fellow who does the editing.
Premium Fuel is better known as # 1 fuel , the go to fuel in friget weather ... lease to gel is also known as winter diesel because it performs better than Diesel #2 in cold temperatures. It has a lower viscosity and is not prone to gel in freezing temperatures. Most stations offer a premium Diesel mix that is blended for local weather conditions. Diesel #2 costs less at the pump.
would you rather be in your big rig or your personal vehicle going down the road when a good rainstorm hits, with no load of consequence in the big rig? Which do you feel safer in?
I got pulled in at the Omaha scale and just hassled by young DOT COP he wad trying to impress a couple deautifull yound lady DOT COPS buy i didnt get any awards
One of the best ways to avoid being pulled into the scale for inspection is having a dashboard and passenger side floor clean and not looking tired and disheveled.
We love your style Kurt!! Lol .. you have a better attitude about DOT than most, so no you tell it like it is and don’t sugar coat it.. poor Jaxs he wants to show off in front of dad but brother is acting needy.. lol your pups are cute Kurt and family.. how is everyone doing?? Here, Machesney Park IL, we have only seen a dusting of snow ❄️ and don’t want anymore 😊🐾🦮🐕🦺🐹🦂🐠🤪

Thanks for you sharing your videos. I really enjoy riding along with you . God bless you and keep you safe
Luv the throttle sound and opie IS a loyal dog🎅
OMGI love those two dogs! I would give them big hugs!
When I would go home I.would need to have a recording of my truck idoling just so I could sleep. We had some angle dandruff here Wednesday night. Didn't last long. Now it is 61.
There we go. I already forgot what we call snow. Thanks for the reminder
Know you have some serious storms going through. All the best to you and the family, we’re praying for you and everyone involved!
Excellent music selection, beautiful road, beautiful weather.
You just have to make sure you give them the right log book 😁KEEP ON TRUCKIN 🚛 🇺🇲 👍
Lol
Used to call them "Comic" Books.
Hey Kurt I really love the fact that you take the time to show the truck moving stuff like that it's kind of like the old school trucking movies. BTW greetings from the Great basin highway, highway 93 Nevada 🚛🇺🇸❤️
A foot of snow and blowing crazy at the moment in Timmins ON, Canada...oh well, it's great to be a Northerner, wouldn't have it any other way!
Wow
I got my best sleep when idling. I had a hard time when I stopped running over the road. Had to take something to knock me out. Some days I miss being out there. Stay safe
I drive school bus in Minnesota. The water temp in December is 170 degrees. Perfect.
Super dooper!

Your shifting is so smooth, I’m 20, done 1 year of semi driving and that’s how I want to get my shifts
What a "cool team" @ 3:05 . . . U & Opie are 😃
As long as u r organized with ur paperwork then u should be ok with dot have a safe trip

Great video Mr. Opie, and Kurt .. 😂
A little warning we should take note along with prayer
😂😂😂😂 poor Opie he had his twig and berries cut 😂😂😂
That truck stop was not open very long after it opened maybe couple yrs then closed hasn't been open for at least 6 or 7 yrs, I didn't realize it had opened again be safe.
A other great video keep up the awesome work. Hi opie. 👍👍👍
Love your dog ❤️
We got close to a foot in this storm in central Wisconsin.
Ouch
Jax is definitely playing with that ball to aggravate Opie
Looks like you were in Tornado area ... Glad to see by the publication of this video that you are ok ... Stay safe Brotha
I worked at (ODOT) Oregon Department of Transportation in the procurement office. We bid and installed weight in motion at our scale stations. I guest that doesn’t cover log books etc. it probably doesn’t cover what you experienced at that weight station.
Kurt, great shot of you pulling up to the fuel pump
Beautiful drive. Glad everything worked out. Have a safe and good day tomorrow.

Back home was 2 inches of snow north farther over the boarder into Minnesota got more.. But we are not home..either it didn’tlook good last night
5 inches of snow here in NE Wyoming. 40 mph winds today. I25 and 80 have both been closed most the day
Ouch
Your tractor look good for that many miles I’m impressed good video thanks
Thanks for the video Kurt…I like the music incorporated into the vids…glad the scale house worked out in your favor…stay safe
I love how you fade the music in and out from the roar of First Classes’ engine! Great balance between the two!
I like the PURR when shifting. Smooth shifting!!!
Hi there.i like your W900,looks amazing and the German shepherd 🐕,love from Saudia Arabia Jeddah city.

Ouch on the snow, and very nice on Vancouver.
Your pipes make it sound great
I know my 94 379 is loud but it sounds so good. I've debated on putting in a wood floor and insulation
Better than the t.v. shows that take millions to produce….If I was driving a truck down the highway I’d want to look just like you!
Good stuff.
My 2 breKs line broke i drove with engene breaks for 300 km to garGe last year

Well the engine warmed up nice with the winter front on. I will try the tap

Yup
I just picked up at Holcomb ks last week

I love opie's commentary..he sounds like a hippie from California..lol
New camera angle is great! Be safe.
I am just wondering if any of your viewers have saw anything on Super Dan it has been more than two weeks thanks Kevin 💙💙💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
He was home
Great camera shots on this one. New sub here.
When you said sometimes when you idle your truck and you're sleeping at night you're in your own little world. Did you mean "you're in your own private Idaho"
Waiting waiting waiting
Did you place the 8 inch pipes on or was they already on?
Peace and quiet is when you are the only one on the road.
I'm interested in how you find your sleeping spots as compared to other truckers - you always seem to find pretty empty lots with space for Opie and all we hear about from others is how there's zero parking
When im in those spots I'm usually on very familiar roads. When I venture out further I'm usually surrounded by trucks.
Give a little tappy tap on the thermostat housing. Hopefully it’ll decide to work til spring. Those were Cat thermostats you put in too, weren’t they?
Yup they were
That part with you pulling into the fuel island I think your step boxes would look great painted the same color as your tanks.
That was a great video.as always but at the end an the backyard was great with jack plaing with the ball its like dude opie you have not been here all week an i have been playing ball by myself 😆

Hey don't know when your next Hills run to Topeka is but they have Crane all opened up for now.......
Great video. Why do you see some trucks pass weigh stations? Nothing to worry about when you have the documents up to date. Peace

UK/EU much the same, weigh stations (wheel tappers) a pain, BUT I guess it works to keep from blatant abuse.
Well, the good thing was it wasn't a level 1. 8-) All the things that keep you from getting your miles in 11. I never ran electronic logs.
Yeah you're old Bubba, and it also sounds like you have a bit of a head cold too! Like your sinuses are stopped up!...🤧👍
I got an warning on my log book they checked everything on my rig the brakes and lights and both horns the little horn on the steering wheel sounded cute it sounded just like the one on my tinny car the blow horn was louder

Hi Kurt great video! I have a question. Why don't you take hwy 77 north to Dakota City? Cuts off miles and 1 more scale!
I usually run around it, but the last few times going by it. It would give me the bypass
Premium Fuel is better known as # 1 fuel , the go to fuel in friget weather ... lease to gel is also known as winter diesel because it performs better than Diesel #2 in cold temperatures. Sounds like a winning plan to me to sleep.
Hey Kurt, I noticed the number 24 next to the drinkers side hood latch. Does that stand for anything special?
would you rather be in your big rig or your personal vehicle going down the road when a good rainstorm hits, with no load of consequence in the big rig? Which do you feel safer in?
The truck feels safer on the interstate just because it's size vs other cars . Definitely feel better in the pickup on 2 lanes
I got pulled in at the Omaha scale and just hassled by young DOT COP he wad trying to impress a couple deautifull yound lady DOT COPS buy i didnt get any awards
Hey Dad this is the best truck stop in the world cornfield
Looked like Jax was telling Opie "I'm The Big Dog " at home
And he really is
Anyone else catch the Trucker Josh reference when he was talking about the logbook?
Love the dog, truck to
Nice truck✌
Hi! What do I need to be aware of if, I buy a truck that is deleted but, still has the def tank?
One of the best ways to avoid being pulled into the scale for inspection is having a dashboard and passenger side floor clean and not looking tired and disheveled.
Question what is your empty weight with your truck an reefer trailer? Thinking about getting a w900 my 07 379 I had with a reefer was right at 35000.
I drove a 1996 KW 900 for a while and the same thing happened to that dipstick, try not to overtighten it
I could NOT sleep in the sleeper unless the engine was idling at about 900 rpm...
No
