Ah I miss the 3DS/Wii U era so much, it defined the early/mid 2010's (2011-2016ish) so much for me. It helped me get through middle and high school, and provided a great source of entertainment for my friends and I. Nearly every Friday after school my friends and I would come to my house and we would play Nintendo Land, Smash 4, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, Mario 3D World, and some old Wii/Gamecube games. I never really used Miiverse but it made the console feel alive by seeing people write messages in games like Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendo Land, and Splatoon. The Miiverse stage in Smash 4 always had hilarious stuff on it. While my first console was the Gamecube, the Wii U will always have a special place in my heart. I can still hear the startup sound of the console complete with the Miis marching in.
Im crying rn. I still remember the day in 2018 playing lego city undercover at night on my wii u. I sold it like in november 2018. I dont remember. I miss it so much. Im gonna buy the console again on bday.

If the only feature of the deluxe model you're interested in is the expanded storage (as opposed to the charging dock or Nintendo Land), then the Basic set should be fine. You can always add an external USB hard drive.
I got this console in 2015, loved it, stopped using it in around 2018 and revisited it every now and then until i learned what HOMEBREW (oooo) meant. Now the wii u is my fav console
Thanks to modding, it’s possible to play GameCube and PS1 games on the Wii U, give the menus and user interfaces custom colors and themes, and bring back internet connectivity to the virtual Wii (meaning you can get the Forecast Channel, News, etc.)… the Wii U is definitely my favorite all in one console. It’s like the Wii but with much much more depth and features to it. The Switch is relatively bland in comparison… it’s a cool concept but it’s literally just a glorified Android tablet with controllers attached to it… so I got it to run Android just for the fun of it.

I was very skeptical of buying a Wii U. But now when MK8 comes out and after looking at the previous Wii U games it looks like a pretty damn awesome console!
It's funny how in my mid to late teens i was in love with my ps3 and first person shooters. All i would ever play was COD ive probably spent over 200 hours from COD 4 to Black ops 2. Now that im 23 my love for those games has kind of faded now i spend most of time playing happy "kiddish" games like pokemon y and pikmin 3. It's funny in a way, i never thought id be addicted to these kinds of games. It must be the fun and nostalgia factor. I love my ps3 and will purchase a ps4 soon but honestly i am having way more fun playing the wii u than i ever did playing fps. I also cant wait for Super Smash Bros on wii u

I mean probably yes, another console would do better at racing game, but you can play a good amount of NFSes on the U: Most Wanted U, Carbon, ProStreet, Undercover and, with modding, GameCube ones aswell: - Underground 1 & 2 - Most Wanted '05 - Hot Pursuit 2 (which is better on PS2). These aren't even all of them! But yeah, probably a modded PS3/X360 could get even more games and also there is to consider that this is only NFS.

I’ve always been a Wii person, so the idea of using the GamePad has never been popular with me, since I really prefer the Wii Remote over the bulky GamePad. The Wii U is still a fabulous console, however, and I’d be willing to use the GamePad if it meant I could use the console (I don’t own a Wii U but I really want one). I would like to know if it’s possible to use the Wii U with the absence of the GamePad entirely, which, if possible, would be wonderful, but if not, I’d be willing to deal with it, so long as I get to play with a Wii U.

Here is what Nintendo could of done to make the wii u a success. Make only one console with a 250 price tag and a free updated wii sports game. Advertise so people know your selling a console and not a wii add on. Have super mario 3d world and zelda wind waker hd available at launch. Release a animal crossing and donkey Kong a bit later. Than release Mario Kart in mid 2013 and super smash bros in early 2014 and they would of had a hit
because people are graphics and hardware stat whores. A hold over from PC geekdom. All good systems that had great games and use experiences have always lost to the performance whores. Its just a sad fact of life that substance is never enough, only the glossy pretty facade reigns supreme.

Why did people hate this? I loved it! I even dusted one off from like 3 years ago just to play it!
because people are graphics and hardware stat whores. A hold over from PC geekdom. All good systems that had great games and use experiences have always lost to the performance whores. Its just a sad fact of life that substance is never enough, only the glossy pretty facade reigns supreme.
