    Was feeling very homesick today… it’s been over 19 years since I have been home to SJ. I typed into Google and your video was the first to pop up. Thank you for your time and sharing your love of the city. Your drive brought me down memory lane. I was amazed to see of the many changes. Keep up your great work!

    I moved to Saint John in 2002 from Ontario. I worked there for 9 months. I think I saw fog every Friday. To escape the fog you just drive out of the city. I was asked why would you move to the armpit of Canada. I now live in the armpit of Ontario in Wallaceburg. :) I'm glad they got rid of the toll. My boss at the time said that we don't do things the Ontario way.
    Saint John doesn't look like it's changed much at all.

    I totally agree Saint John gets treated unfairly. I never understood that. It truly is a beautiful place. As my hometown, I’m protective of Moncton. It’s definitely more than just strip malls, semi detached houses and a muddy river. There are beautiful Victorian homes and great architecture as well as some gorgeous churches and lovely parks. Also, it’s a short drive to some top notch warm, sandy beaches and it’s close to the Bay as well. Having lived in Fredericton for 23 years, I can say this city is lovely as well with the Saint John river running through it. It’s very green and a great mix of old and new. I’ll have to find your video on Black Beach. I missed it somehow.

    Dear Les and Wendy, This is Paul from China who will move to Saint John in September, 2022. Your video channel has given me tons of information about Saint John. Could you please prepare a video about the schools in Saint John? I guess many couples who have children have interest in this kind of information. And I wish more and more people will follow your TH-cam.

    • @WeLoveSaintJohn

      Hi Paul. Thank you for watching. Since we don't have kids we can't really comment about schools too much. We do mention them in several videos and talk about reputations we have heard, but we have no direct experience with any schools. It does seem like there are good schools in most neighbourhoods from what we hear.

    Thank you for the tour . im not surprised to here that St Johns is booming and thus the rising house prices. Even I've considered relocating to the Maritimes. i have some concerns however regarding the Irving family. The deep dark secret of New Brunswick that most people are unware and the persistant spraying of poisonous chemucals on the surrounding forests. Could you shed some light on that subject for me please, only if your able of course. im sure its a touchy subjuct out your way and something the Government is covering up it would seem. On a lighter note, do you have the name of a goid realtor you would recomend. Cheers Michael

    • @WeLoveSaintJohn
      @WeLoveSaintJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Irving family has a lot of influence in NB. Some people have great respect for them and others don't. We do not get involved in politics on this channel. Regarding your lighter note, we recommend a couple of wonderful realtors named Les and Wendy who work for Royal Lepage Atlantic, and who host this channel. We like to think we're pretty good at helping people make the move to the Saint John area. You can reach us at welovesaintjohn@royallepage.ca or call 506-607-3095.

    • @WeLoveSaintJohn

      Agreed. The city needs investment and growth, but it needs to be done responsibly and with respect, which the developers from Toronto are often not known for.

    I really enjoy your videos and love that you’re promoting Saint John but as a life long NBer, I’m turned off by the constant digs at Moncton and Fredericton. They have a lot to offer if you look into them. Saint John has it’s pluses and minuses as do the other cities in NB. It’s not necessary to tear other places down in order to promote your area. That being said, I’ll continue to watch your channel and will look forward to seeing more content of Saint John. Black Beach is a neat spot that’s worth checking out.

    • @WeLoveSaintJohn
      @WeLoveSaintJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sherry. Thank you for your comment. We respect what you wrote although we disagree that we attempt to tear down Moncton or Fredericton. If there is a false statement in anything we have said, I would love to hear what it was. We point out weather differences and that Saint John has more natural and architectural beauty than either of those cities in our opinion, which if for no other reason than being the only one of the three cities on the Bay of Fundy, bears that out.
      As outsiders to this province we have found that there is a systemic agenda within the province and its population to tear down Saint John and promote the other cities. Whether it be bias in the assessment of property values by Service New Brunswick, the latest municipal amalgamation project by the province that completely ignored this area's needs, or just the trolls on Reddit forums, this city is always knocked down and working from a disadvantaged position.
      If we can be a small voice to point out all the good this city has to offer, relative to the cities that the province spends its money to promote, then we feel compelled to do our part, because of how much Saint John has given to us in our four years of living here. Moncton and Fredericton have the whole province on their side and good for them. We will continue to be on the side of Saint John, which after all, is in the title of our channel.
      By the way, we did do a video of Black Beach, which is beautiful as you point out.
      Thank you for continuing to watch our videos.

      It’s the complete opposite of this statement. There are 2500 unfilled (and growing) jobs in area including the standard spread of “high paying” jobs to good paying to minimum wage. My workplace has entry level positions starting at $60k and have a difficult time filling them. Lucky for us newcomers to city (and Canada) have been filling them and are fantastic employees. Why do we always here about a bad job situation in this city??? Reality on the ground is the COMPLETE opposite.
