The US city by the Mississippi River was named after the Egyptian city by the Nile known for its pyramids, so decided to build a modern one there. As a small sports stadium. When I was living there it was most known for Arena Football, some kind of compressed version of the US hand-egg sport. According to Wikipedia the Memphis Pyramid is 98 meters tall, over four times that of the Louvre Pyramid, which made me think it might be worth mentioning.
