I went from buying high and selling low to buying low and selling somewhat higher, I’m happy to make 30-40% in a year guaranteed over 500% but when you wake up half of it is gone.
This guy just said earlier this week that it was a buying opportunity and that the dip was only a one or two day temporary drop. Since then it has gone down almost 10 percent. He somehow always seems to be wrong.
I think that stocks have been this tremendous, tremendous equalizer for people in this country. GUYS who cannot make a lot of money at their jobs have been able to make a lot money in the stock market.

In general, to summarize there are two important points: 1. Cash is king. Have cash on hand to capitalize on cheaper prices. 2. Hold or at the most sell a little bit to have cash on hand, but the market will come back.
Even with the availability of different trading options in the market like CRYPTO, STOCK,FOREX etc. It can still be very possible for one to make loss unless they do have the proper skill to do so.
Absolutely right, few years back I recorded series of losses, it's a good thing that I can now make a tangible profits in the market with a sensible investing routine even when it seem difficult and nearly impossible.

I believe that to benefit from the financial market one needs a full trading system with a watchlist, position sizing and signals for maximizing gains and minimizing losses, technical analysis alone is not a trading system.
my advice is not to enter the stock market with basic knowledge. Stock trading is a zero sum game it is complex so you need math skills to understand the market trends.

I didn't take Cathy Wood of Ark Invest seriously. To me she was the lady who made a lucky call on Tesla. Admittedly then and before I was buying Tesla. The thing is in the past year I've kept hearing more and more about her, and I started paying attention to her interviews, and she's got intelligence and strategies like nobody else I've ever heard articulate. I agree with her that we are in a paradigm shift and her five platforms of disruptive innovation will be what change the world and the market. I went heavily into the five main Ark funds on February 2nd and I'm down 8-22%. I have to tell you I'm thrilled. I didn't get all the money I wanted in the funds at the time, and now I have another opportunity. I'm dollar cost averaging in hoping this downturn runs further. Cathy Woods five main Ark funds all have 500 to 600% returns over the past 5 years. It is not a one-time thing. Future gains may be a more modest 20% a year as Cathy Woods has stated is her goal, but I expect they will far exceed that. I say it doesn't even matter if everybody else is buying Ark funds. If the companies Ark invested in had more funds they would innovate faster. If Ark pushes up the stock price of some of the companies they own, those companies will be able to sell new shares at a better cost for them, be better capitalized, and innovate faster. Personally my portfolio is up 602% since October of 2019, mainly due to Tesla and crypto. Having discovered Ark now I feel like I don't have to pick stocks anymore, just dollar cost average into every dip, and that's what I'll be doing.

I'm seeing people put every dollar they have into "buying the dip, 'cause everyone KNOWS stonks only go up!" I've seen a guy talk about mortgaging his house and using credit cards. How to spot a market bottom: Cramer tells you that you are nowhere near the bottom and it is going to go a lot lower and tries to spread fear. I learned this one the hard way in 08/09 when dow hit 6500 and cramers was talking about how it could fall to 5000. Missed the bottom because of him. So looks like we are near bottom then... The Federal Reserve is the bond market. They are the buyers. This means it is the Fed that decides if the market rises and falls. Markets rising on Fed manipulation is just as bad as markets falling.

You should always sit on a pile of cash when the market is high. So that when the market is down, you average down as the market goes down because you do not know when it will hit bottom -- Unless you know who owns what and at what rate. If I know an X stock is bought with 50% on margin, I would tell you when it will hit bottom. In fact all what I can do is predict it.
He recently said that he has had poor luck selling and using the proceeds to rebuy at a lower level. Now, he says to do this very thing. I do not want to fault him, but his irrational exuberance leads him to say things that are inconsistent with reality, including his own. Catching a falling knife in this manner and finding a bottom, or near bottom, sounds great, but is next to impossible to carry out, and can cost you a lot of money.

Everyone needs to relax. You haven't lost anything until you sell. Ask yourself this: 1. Have you invested in good solid companies that are likely to grow in the long term? 2. Is your portfolio down because of the performance of the stock market right now as opposed to the performance of the companies you've invested in? If the answer to both of these is "Yes", then chill and hold for 1-5 or 10 years. Don't time the market and load up on more stocks if you can to dollar cost average your investment while everything is on sale.

The best way to buy the dip is to invest continuously while the dip is happening. Apart from that the closest you can get to the dip is wait for a small rise and then invest. Basically there is absolutely no way to predict the very bottom
Remember, Jim Cramer is the guy who was saying, "Buy Bear Stearns" right before the company collapsed back in 2008-09, coming from a guy that brags about having worked for Goldman Sachs, claims to having inside players on his side and is in the know after "years in the business"... We have a likely bottom today invested 25% and balance Monday Tuesday. Don’t listen to money managers - they say it’s not possible to pick a bottom- maybe not but you can get very close. The big fat institutions don’t want you to be able to pick a bottom. I picked March not the exact date but close enough- the trend is your friend ! Study hard and keep your ear to the news and be quick to snap out of complacency - cut your losses and get out if you can ! Buying dips assumes you have money to buy so see the signals quickly when to get out of even long positions. People overreact and quickly so have a game plane to get out - don’t wait it out GET OUT

These Institutional investors will come back to tech, few know that. Technology is the future. Institutions wants a big gain then tech goes down then retail investors sell cheap the stocks then institutions come back then retail investors start to buy high prices.
I invested for the future and I am janitor that put 60K on Lucid, Tesla, NIO for more years. Have 20K saved. I will put in these companies in each dip.
Don't forget back home studied Law School and Technology so I am not dummie. And I love doing this more than IT job.

How to spot a market bottom: Cramer tells you that you are nowhere near the bottom and it is going to go a lot lower and tries to spread fear. I learned this one the hard way in 08/09 when dow hit 6500 and cramers was talking about how it could fall to 5000. Missed the bottom because of him.

The Federal Reserve is the bond market. They are the buyers. This means it is the Fed that decides if the market rises and falls. Markets rising on Fed manipulation is just as bad as markets falling.

You should always sit on a pile of cash when the market is high. So that when the market is down, you average down as the market goes down because you do not know when it will hit bottom -- Unless you know who owns what and at what rate. If I know an X stock is bought with 50% on margin, I would tell you when it will hit bottom. In fact all what I can do is predict it.

Everyone needs to relax. You haven't lost anything until you sell. Ask yourself this:
1. Have you invested in good solid companies that are likely to grow in the long term?
2. Is your portfolio down because of the performance of the stock market right now as opposed to the performance of the companies you've invested in?
If the answer to both of these is "Yes", then chill and hold for 1-5 or 10 years. Don't time the market and load up on more stocks if you can to dollar cost average your investment while everything is on sale.

The bottom was Friday. And we saw a reversal on both the Nasdaq and the S&P 500. Get back into growth stocks people, they are cheap and about to start their second bull run since the market crash. I still hold all my shares and invested more last Friday. Good luck to all.

It is best to wait for a follow through day in one or more of the major indexes before buying rather than trying to catch falling knives week after week.
So the Gov needs people to buy BONDS but nobody is interested because the stock market was doing well...so MMs tank the indices, people sell off in panic, and many go to bonds to buy them because they are 'safer' than stocks. When bond quota is filled the market will bounce back... Rigged...

We have a likely bottom today invested 25% and balance Monday Tuesday. Don’t listen to money managers - they say it’s not possible to pick a bottom- maybe not but you can get very close. The big fat institutions don’t want you to be able to pick a bottom. I picked March not the exact date but close enough- the trend is your friend ! Study hard and keep your ear to the news and be quick to snap out of complacency - cut your losses and get out if you can ! Buying dips assumes you have money to buy so see the signals quickly when to get out of even long positions. People overreact and quickly so have a game plane to get out - don’t wait it out GET OUT
