I like how they included the first classmate saying 'everyone is treated the same,' and once Light does his speech the other classmates actually say what they want. Light as a character is fascinating and I love it, and I love these songs.
This is a GREAT SONG! Oddly, it could work to describe the motives of at least 70% of superheroes and 10% of villains. If Batman sang in his teens, he would’ve sung this.
Drowned Life I’m not saying that out of people it would work for a portion are heroes and another are villains; I mean that, out of all heroes, this song would work for some of them and the same for the bad guys.
Ironically, Japan has the opposite problem. This is probably more relevant in countries like the United States, which follow the philosophy of "better to free the guilty than punish the innocent".
Except the American establishment still punishes people for victimless crime depending on which state you live in, so it's really more like "let's punish those who can't afford to buy out their screw-ups"
Light Classmate #2 needs more appreciation.

I have just slightly more sympathy for Light despite my hate for him.

Lauren O what's the other twenty percent?

Okay I was just curious
Drowned Life no problem
I always think of this as such a Robin song, but specifically Red Hood
This is the ultimate song

Yeah, Like what's happening this year 😔
This aged like fine wine

The best part of this song is how applicable it is to real life
Came here for Jeremy! ❤️❤️❤️ never knew there was a planned Death Note musical.
Who gave them the rights to make this such a fucking banger
8 years later, it's still a vibe
This song SLAAAAAAAAPS

Black Knight 413 he is sick to death of Kira's singing
I had no idea Death Note was a musical

Even more so now, unfortunately
This fits the new Batman movie if you imagine Light as Riddler and his teacher as Batman
I wanna see Goro Akechi sing this song
Is Light Jeremy Jordan,aka Varian?
Omg I could totally see Varian singing this song, that's great lol
It's so true though

Does anyone else hear Varian from the Tangled series?
Fun Fact:It is the actor who plays Varian Jeremy Jordan he also plays Light in the musical.
