Cruising through TH-cam at random and your video came up and I figured I'd watch. I'm one of the "gluttons" that bought a 94 6 speed back in May to daily. My 09 ram 5.7 shit itself as they're known for doing and I wanted to find something that checked my boxes. I was amazed at how easily the right C4 can just check a laundry list of boxes. Cheap? Absolutely. Low miles as well? Got it on lock. Probably pretty damn good shape? Any low mileage C4 has probably lived in a garage, no rust, barely even outside enough to get dirty in the engine bay. Probably needs a lot of standard maintenance type stuff, fluids and the like, but that's to be expected of any used car with 30k miles on it. Practical? Surprisingly so practical. 25 mpg highway is pretty normal for the 6 speed and a pretty decent amount of cargo space for what it is. As long as you're willing to give it the attention it requires from you, you genuinely can't beat the kind of value you can get from one of the later C4s. They are definitely cars that demand attention and commitment from you but so long as you're willing to give it they're worth so much more than what they cost. A tinkerer's dream car and so incredibly fun even just cruising back and forth to work. I have absolutely no fears about my car just randomly leaving me stranded. Roadside assistance is cheap. Anyone giving the car the attention it requires will know of the issue and will already be planning on replacing the water pump and Opti long before they get a chance to shit themselves. Side note, tell mr convertible to ditch the mufflers(but leave the resonator in the middle). An LT1 car without mufflers is not as loud as you would probably think but it sounds SO good. It can always be undone. I was worried it would be too loud before doing it but I bit the bullet and the instant I heard it I felt like a little kid at a car show. Months later, still not tired of hearing it, such a good sound.
Cant wait to get my car done and get it tune i plan on getting the tune from you been following you for awhile and going to make my 95 camaro like your turbo car

What’s your support for trashing Petris? His customers rave over him, as do I, and numerous forums name drop his product over Accel or MSD. Genuinely asking, I’m a fan of your content!
I’m not trashing them. It’s literally a reboxed cheap Chinese optispark that’s marked up 300% for some vent hoses. It is absolutely nothing special. The warranty is laughable. I’ve had numerous customers with opti issues from them and they wanna blame everything else under the sun. Save your money.
@@strongspeedworks too late for me, so I’ll find out if it’s truly junk or not I suppose. I bought a 383 LT1 ‘94 Firebird, so I follow your content for tuning and mod advice as I learn more and more about the LT1 platform. Always appreciate your knowledge man.

I don't think I have ever removed the balancer off to change a fbody opti spark
Then you’ve never changed an optispark.
Would a dirty maf make it read funny at idle? Just something to check before tuning.
Yes.
