    Cruising through TH-cam at random and your video came up and I figured I'd watch. I'm one of the "gluttons" that bought a 94 6 speed back in May to daily. My 09 ram 5.7 shit itself as they're known for doing and I wanted to find something that checked my boxes. I was amazed at how easily the right C4 can just check a laundry list of boxes. Cheap? Absolutely. Low miles as well? Got it on lock. Probably pretty damn good shape? Any low mileage C4 has probably lived in a garage, no rust, barely even outside enough to get dirty in the engine bay. Probably needs a lot of standard maintenance type stuff, fluids and the like, but that's to be expected of any used car with 30k miles on it. Practical? Surprisingly so practical. 25 mpg highway is pretty normal for the 6 speed and a pretty decent amount of cargo space for what it is. As long as you're willing to give it the attention it requires from you, you genuinely can't beat the kind of value you can get from one of the later C4s. They are definitely cars that demand attention and commitment from you but so long as you're willing to give it they're worth so much more than what they cost. A tinkerer's dream car and so incredibly fun even just cruising back and forth to work. I have absolutely no fears about my car just randomly leaving me stranded. Roadside assistance is cheap. Anyone giving the car the attention it requires will know of the issue and will already be planning on replacing the water pump and Opti long before they get a chance to shit themselves. Side note, tell mr convertible to ditch the mufflers(but leave the resonator in the middle). An LT1 car without mufflers is not as loud as you would probably think but it sounds SO good. It can always be undone. I was worried it would be too loud before doing it but I bit the bullet and the instant I heard it I felt like a little kid at a car show. Months later, still not tired of hearing it, such a good sound.

    What’s your support for trashing Petris? His customers rave over him, as do I, and numerous forums name drop his product over Accel or MSD. Genuinely asking, I’m a fan of your content!

    • @strongspeedworks
      @strongspeedworks  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not trashing them.
      It’s literally a reboxed cheap Chinese optispark that’s marked up 300% for some vent hoses. It is absolutely nothing special.
      The warranty is laughable. I’ve had numerous customers with opti issues from them and they wanna blame everything else under the sun.

    You're dead wrong on the opti thing dude!!! Don't go to your parts store and buy one!! Literally the last thing you should do!! Trust me don't do it!! I've learned my lesson!! And ill never buy anything BUT petris!!! The sensors are the problem!! And petris doesn't used shit Chinese sensors!!! They aren't rebuilt in China!! They are rebuilt using cheap Chinese sensors! The petris DOESN'T!! The petris come with MITSUBISHI grade or better sensors ( like factory units that were great) and they are all sealed and loktite on the screws!!! Also the early years are upgraded with ventilation!! My 92 corvette has a vented unit!! But you are right on them not being that hard of a job!! But i couldn't disagree more with you about the optispark thing!!! PETRIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY GOOD ONE ON THE MARKET!!! If you want to do the job over and over again then go to your local parts store!!! Yeah you have a lifetime warranty and you're also going to be changing them for the rest of your lifetime!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @strongspeedworks
      @strongspeedworks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @strongspeedworks I haven't heard anyone with a cheap piece of crap like you're talking have ANY kinda luck!! But the petris I have only heard great results!!! A guy here on TH-cam I talk to said he went through 3 optisparks in as many months puts in a petris and been running perfectly for over 4 years now!!! And me I was averaging replacing one every single year!! Never had one last longer than a few months!! And haven't heard ANYONE have ANY kind of luck with any cheap parts store paper weight!!! lmao

      @@C4VETTELT1open a Petris. See what’s inside.
      A cheap Chinese AIP sensor. “Mitsubishi grade” lol.
      If you really think there are multiple companies making optisparks for the LT1, you’re ignorant.
      It’s a reboxed eBay unit. Email them and ask them what sensor is inside.
      I literally deal with these every day. I’ve seen Petris take a dump. I’ve seen 50 dollar ones from eBay live. They’re all a gamble.
