This was a great stage performance, and his ability to switch voices so easily is amazing. He stayed there in the 5th octave, but technically he can go higher. On "Champions," he sang a C6. Of course, it's risky to go to the limit in a competition, so he stayed in his safety zone. His gritty rock voice was a cool contrast to his soprano voice. Like Marcelito Pomoy or Dimash, he doesn't need a duet partner to sing a male and a female part. The background vocals, by the way, come from other Forestella members. They support each other even when they perform solo.
He is superb as a solo singer. I like his rocker sound, and when he sings in the rafters with that high counter tenor voice that leaves a lot of ladies green with envy, and everything in between. However, I absolutely love him as part of Forestella. The four of them complement one another so well, and go from all superb singers to a phenomenal group. Champions being my favourite song as all 4 of them showcase their strengths spectacularly in the song.

This was the song Kang sang for his Phantom singer auditions. He obvious needed to show what he could do with his voice . It ultimately led to group Forestella being formed the winners of the Phantom singer competition.
Thanks for your fantastic reaction to Kang HyungHo (rocker identity Pitta) of Forestella. He said he's inspired by NightWish and he has NightWish version cover on his own channel. Kang HyungHo has interesting life story. He wanted to sing from his juvenil days but his parents didn't agree him to go to art school. So his music life started since he joined the rock band in the university. Even after graduation he continued the band and won the Grand-Prix in the workers' band contest in Busan. His sensational audition song- the Phantom of the Opera was his killer repertoire. He used to cover MUSE so he developed his falsetto that good. (He has not only very talented voice but also great singing technique.) He was working as a research chemist in Lotte BP Chemical - quite good company providing high salary, it was Samsung BP Chemical sold to Lotte - when he auditioned. As Phantom Singer audition was designed for making a (good-looking) classical crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea, there were bunch of opera singers who majored in classical vocal and well-known musical actors. He was the only office worker who majored in (chemical) engineering in whole participants. But he used to sing as a vocalist in an amateur rock band (the band name was Pitta but it became Pittaband afterwards) in his leisure time. He stole the show singing the Phantom of the Opera duet song by himself. Now his audition clip has more than 3M views in Navercast and got more than 10M views in sum of TH-cam videos only from Koreans as JTBC didn't release the video for abroad.. He said he had thought he would be able to quit from the music regretlessly with criticism he would get. But BAAMM! Thanks God he failed to quit from music! He quit from the research chemist job instead. lol He was doing good in his job like to get promoted even while his audition. His company exceptionally offered him an year's leave of absence and he wrote 3 papers on chemical research theme even while his leave of absence as a chemist, working (singing) as a member of Forestella. He quit his research chemist job 1 year after the debut as Forestella, in the end of leave of absence period he had. He would have worries and considering about career and steady salary, stable life but finally chose the life of professional musician. I really appreciate his decision from heart as a fan of him, and of Forestella.

They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what?
