Wha? WHOA?!!! Where did THIS come from?? Holy cow. As I’m about to click on this channel’s upload library, here’s HOPIN there are many more vids like this. Unusual and much-needed educational material! 👏👏
AJ - I'm glad you dig it! There are currently 18 videos and I've got topic ideas for about 50 more, but funding is the hold-up. I should learn next month if the funding to create another 10 videos will be coming. I hope you'll subscribe to my channel so you will be one of the first to know when another video is completed. The funding for the first 18 videos was provided by grants from the East Central Regional Arts Council, located in Hinckley, Minnesota. I bet they would love to hear from you that you think they spent their money well!
Thanks, Kenneth! It's been fun creating these videos. The video company, Northome Films, and I are taking a week off, but will be back with a short series on the components of the early drum set VERY soon!
Hey Super Coop - sorry I didn't see your note until just now. I love taking what I call a "mini deep dive" on a single topic. There is so much to know and so much that is interesting. Thanks for watching!
Wonderful!
Great information!!! Thanks for the lesson!!

This is an amazing look into drum set history. I have yet to find any books in my local library that have this breadth of information.

So the evolution was China -> Crush -> Ride -> Hi-hat, like that?
Why the word "sock"? Why the word "hat"? What's the etymology?
