I like rap in my kpop, but I don't listen to straight rap very often. I was skeptical when I heard NCT U was dropping a song with just the rap line. Misfit is 🔥🔥🔥. It's my favorite track from the album. Mark killed it. Thanks for the reaction!
From what I’ve heard, Misfit and From Home are answers to silly critics who said NCT is noise, and they don’t have talented vocalists or rappers. It amazes me how many groups get that same criticism. Good thing no one listens to critics! Sungchan is a great addition to NCT. Check out the b-side Light Bulb (formerly Switch Off), originally performed by Taeyong and Doyoung, joined by Sungchan and Kun on vocals and piano. It’s my favorite track on Resonance. I also recommend Yestoday, Dreams Come True, and I.O.U.
Sungchan rapping, him and Taeyong to me have a similar style of rapping and I think they play so well off each other. I need more Sungchan in everything!
This track is so, does a good showcasing everyone's different rap styles, and let's everyone know NCT can do a straight rap track. They do some really interesting things with rapping melodies or staccato choruses on their b-sides, especially 127. Johnny and Jaehyun are not only a criminal duo on the visuals, but they take no prisoners when they do deep, melodic raps together. The producers know exactly what they're doing when they put those two on some ridiculously low ad-libs. No one's ears are safe. SM loves rap duos that complement each other really well. Taeyong x Mark, Jeno x Jaemin, Yangyang x Hendery, Lucas x Winwin are usually together. Who's going to be Sungchan's partner? He recently hinted that his new unit will debut soon. Will it be Shotaro? Have you listened to BIGBANG? They're the OG hip-hop group. If SM has a foundation in R&B, YG has hip-hop. Without BIGBANG, kpop would look totally different. They're the official "Kings of K-Pop". 2NE1 was their sister group. I'm pretty sure SM was trying to debut SHINee as a hip-hop unit to compete with BB, but they wouldn't have the right trainees until SM Rookies/NCT to pull off a more hip-hop group.
I think you could also do a deep dive into Khiphop its not the same as kpop but the rappers are on a whole other level. You don't need to react to it but just listen or look at the music is also good. Here are some artist i for sure recommend: JUSTHIS Highr music AOMG Jay Park Sik-k Ph-1 Etc

I just started getting into Victon and Hanse is on a DIFFERENT LEVEL. My favorite verses are in What I Said, but yeah. I love his style
