@@BharatXtreme I've recently uploaded a podcast with Arjun, check it out: th-cam.com/video/3Nvfuk70v6g/w-d-xo.html As for Vidit and Gukesh, I hope we'll make it happen!
Pragg is so precise and concise in his answers! I like what he said about talent in particular. It’s also nice to watch his and Arjun’s interviews back to back.
talent is something that definitely exist. For example when you are in school you can see some student who can solve different math questions pretty comfortably without much hard work. But other students have to practice those types of questions to get the grasp on it. I think talent is something develops when you are a kid. During those early years what your brain enjoy becomes your strength later.
Wonderful questions, loved getting a deeper insight into Pragg's approach and way of thinking!❤Very matured responses, knows exactly what works best for him, healthy mindset of focusing on the game in front of him first instead of muddying his objective thinking/joy of chess with the pressure of long term aims during a tournament and it was inspiring to hear him mention how you can only play half of the game and the rest is out of your control - its simple but in a game where too often total accountability for one's choices can scar some players into playing safer and not getting over losses - this is a healthy relieving way to look at things to both strive to play the better half but also not beat yourself up over a game.
Now in India we recognise our chess heroes,it was a time in INDIA like,Anand was traveling in train and his co-traveler started talking with Anand and asked ,what do you want to become?Anand replied,i want to become professional chess playe,co-traveler said,no son,in chess is no future but if you want, you have to be as good as Anand is,the poor guy didn't he is talking with Anand.but nowadays fortunately we recognise even their shadow

I think Pragg shows real chess understanding for not underestimating Ding. When Arjun said it would be a massacre I thought to myself that Arjun doesn't know Ding Liren's chess history well for him to say that. He's one of the highest rated players of all time. He is a force and he can recover, he came back three times against Nepo, then won. That said if Gukesh starts with a lead it will be hard psychologically for Ding considering he hasn't had strong results the past year and it could spiral into bad results he can't come back from. But the longer Ding stays stable as the match goes on, the more anything can happen. I think 60-40 is a great prediction by Pragg. Gukesh is definitely the favorite, but you never count out a world class player like Ding.
Do you really think arjun don't know Dings chess history. I bet he know most of the games with every move in his memory. Just accept it that Ding Fell Off, every Super Gm has accepted that, either its hikaru or magnus or arjun
Ding taking the lead is better for Gukesh. He will not take anything for granted If Gukesh takes a lead and then Ding equalises,Gukesh won't be able to handle it psychologically
I was really hoping you would ask Prag about his relationship with Vaishali. Does he practice with his sister, discuss chess with her, does she help him, or does he help her? All these things.

He really needs to take a break from tournaments. The continuous stress of being in games can eventually get to you. Rest days are as equally important as high-stress tournaments!
Pragg is only going to be better with age & he would be in constant top 5 in classical chess. However, I don't see him playing Bullet or Rapid at top level.
Pragg thinks he has time like everyone his age but eventually realises that life gives you such a short window. I hope he talks more to Radjabov who was a young prodigy, at the top, later just spiraled in a blink of an eye.
There are two problems with the issue of talent. Firstly, how do you define it and how do you measure it? Secondly, and more importantly, who cares what someone's talent level is. The only thing that matters in this world is output. What have you produced? You may be some super talented surgeon, whatever that means, but if your surgeries are ineffective or people are dying then it's pointless. Nobody cares that, had the surgeon worked hard like Pragg then he would've been world class, but he is not working hard like Dubov, and therefore patients are having complications or dying. Literally nobody cares about your talent vs hard work balance. What is the output you're producing? If you're a writer, what is the quality of the book you wrote? If you're a filmmaker, what is the quality of your film? if you're an athlete, what is the quality of your performance and are you winning Olympic medals or not? Output. That's all that matters.
