There’s a mistake in the video. I said 10.9 billion US dollars when in fact it was HK$, which is around 1.4 billion US dollars. Less than half of that has been used, leaving 0.85 billion US dollars for new projects

I think you should pull the video and fix that mistake, since so much of the commentary is wrong b/c of that error. Do it right away before you loose too many views. Your videos are so good, really appreciate the effort you put into them!

HKDL is such a terrific park, being on the West Coast of Australia, we consider it our Home Park, and before COVID we held annual passes for a number of years (even if we only went for a week a year, it helped with the overall cost and discounts). We’ve been lucky to see it grow through all these expansions, and I cannot wait to visit the latest, even though Frozen is 100% not my personal cup of tea, the new land they have built looks truly incredible and beautifully themed like Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point have been. It’s a very relaxed park, the food is great, and the hotels also. Explorers Lodge is truly brilliant. As for expansions, the expansion pad left over from the premature removal of the Speedway offers the most promise, should be their top priority. The original SHIELD/Avengers base attraction truly looked mind blowing and amazing, so many levels of movement and detail, it truly would have added SO much to Tomorrowland. But with the attraction now likely based on the simulator ride that DCA 🇺🇸 will be getting, this will probably be a very disappointing option. Your idea of expanding Grizzly Gulch is terrific, and a water raft ride themed around the Gulch and gold mine there would be terrific fun, and a great way to cool down, and add even more of the wonderful theming Grizzly Gulch provides. A Toon Town expansion beside Toy Story land would be wonderful, or a complete Duffy and Friends land would be as charming and definitely fit this demographic well. Make a ride similar to Mickeys Runaway Railway and a theatre show like DisneySea has and it would be a wonderful land. A Water Park outside would be great, but another option would be to improve the hotel pools with some great slides and that would also be a bigger draw to boost hotel guests, and then the shopping and dining district Io from the Wharf area would add a lot to the area and be wonderful for nighttime drinks and food options for island visitors and hotel guests, all within walking distance of public transport, the park and hotels.

Living in Singapore since 2009, HKDL become my “home” Park as it’s just a 3hr flight away (same as WDW from my Boston home) and I often consulted, trained or spoke in HK, so often, I became an AP holder for many years before 2020.
As you likely know, the master plan calls for a Second Gate (CA Disneyland style across from the plaza) with hotels surrounding the perimeter of both Parks along the seaside with a Downtown Disney in the middle of the two Parks.
I doubt that a Water Park is on the table. You mentioned the temperature is hot in HK, hotter than Orlando. Maybe on paper, but not in reality! November to mid March is just too cool for a Water Park.
Yes! A Log flume ride would be excellent. There was a proposal for a Pirates version of Splash Mountain with a land similar to that in Shanghai, which would be a great fit.
The Avengers coaster is likely being re-thought based on the tepid reaction to Marvel as of late. Besides, not sure Antman is as well received as Buzz was? Does the Park need 3 Marvel attractions? The whole Stark Expo idea just doesn’t work for me. You?
Within the Park’s expansion footprint, there are approximately 4 slots, available (including the unbuilt Avengers Coaster)… which provide a great opportunity to integrate new IP, not yet explored in the Park such as Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Finding Nemo, etc. Honestly, what I liked most about the Phase 3 expansion, however, is that it contained 2 non-IP expansions in Grizzly Gulch & Mystic Point.
While the following IPs should be held, for the Second Gate, if it isn’t going to be built, they should consider Indy, Star Wars, Alien, Avatar, Planet of The Apes for unique attractions that would draw a diverse audience to one or both Parks.

I think that grizzly river run next to grizzly gulch would be the best option as it would be a natural fit into the theme of grizzly gulch and would provide a water ride to cool off.

I know there is hope for an Avengers E-ticket attraction. But, there is an expansion pad in Toy Story Land I hope will be used for Toy Story Mania. I’d also love to see a fully integrated Tomorrowland into an Avengers Campus. That would require a radical change to Space Mountain..

I would love to see the pirates land concept for Hong Kong Disney added to this park (I understand that pirates are controversial over in china but they can make it a fictional version as they did in shanghai) it could be placed in between mystic manor and frozen land which this can kind of make it tie in with adventure land. Another addition I would love to see, is a sort of water attraction made for grizzly gulch. This can have a similar bear and frontier theme that we can see in the roller coaster attraction we have today. It could be made as a better version of Grizzly River Run but with animatronics and a story. Lastly, this is more of a complaint but I really dislike the frozen land in the park, it takes away lots of land which could have been used to better expand fantasy land but it should be fine.

  • @JamesE88
    @JamesE88 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It may be controversial, but the Jungle Cruise and Tarzan’s Treehouse takes up a lot of space and isn’t a very good or popular ride.
Hong Kong Disneyland was initially built with many classic Disneyland rides, and was built with Chinese family dynamics in mind, families visiting in large groups with Parents and Grandparents and only one or two children, therefore it needed to remain very tame in its rides.
That has changed with many more groups of friends and younger people visiting.
There were rumours that Tokyo was considering getting rid of their Rivers of America and building a Cars Land so there’s precedent.

My List of Ideas for Hong Kong Disneyland:
    - A Fully-Realized Pirate-Themed Section with Pirates of the Caribbean near Adventureland
    - a Peter Pan ride for Fantasyland
    - a Lion King themed water ride for a Lion King themed mini-land for Adventureland
    - more dark rides for Fantasyland

Saw many people talking about Pirate Land, originally Disney proposed a pirate project to the government but ended up getting rejected so having a new pirate-themed land might be quite hard (there are some designs across the internet, I recommend having a look cuz they are quite cool)

Pls no avengers ride. Avengers is not really classic Disney and it doesn’t feel timeless like Star Wars is. It’s already dead now with the new phase and when it opens, like in 4-8 years, no one is gonna care at all. We need something classic for Tomorrowland. Maybe Wall E? That’s one of the best Pixar movies

My idea for Future of HKD:
Plot 1 (between WOF & TSL): A new Pirates land featuring a unique version of Pirates of the Caribbean combining the technology of Shanghai with the physicality & charm of the OG Disneyland version.
Plot 2: (Between Adventureland and Grizzly Gulch): A new Typhoon Lagoon style land featuring a Log Flume based around the adventures of Mary Oceaneer and a playground around a sunken ship.
Plot 3: Downtown Disney district with shops, restaurants, and activities.
Plot 4: New hotel (theme & name TBA for the moment)
