I still have a set of chairs Keith leant me from one of his rental properties in Braintree while it was being decorated. I treasure them, use them every day. Miss you brother!!
Still hard to believe Keith is not here anymore. I was kinda heartbroken when my colleague came to me to tell the bad newswhen it happend. I went to the beach staring to the sea and say my goodbye to him. Rip Keith, may you rock on in heaven.
I AM SO BLESSED...To see Prodigy in the Big Day Out...in New Zealand 🇳🇿 in a set that was mainly Music for the Jilted Generation , with couple of SICK Additions... Firestarter 🔥 and Breathe...full open stage concert, and Maxim and Keefo filled it - BOOM 💥!!!!
I saw The Prodigy many times in the 90s and they were always incredible. The best show I went to was on the Jilted Generation tour of 1995 at Brixton Academy.
He seemed like such a cool, fun-loving guy. I remember when they played in my town, Fat Of The Land had just come out, Smack My Bitch Up was the most controversial song on MTV and this local journalist covered how Keith was feeding squirrels in the park. ;D
Too bad that I never saw them live. I just heard them in the tv or on cd's. They definitely rocked! I will miss them. Rip to everyone who passed away. 😢
I got into the Prodigy in the late 90's in California with "Poison" and then REALLY got into them when "The Fat of the Land" released. I really wish I had known about them earlier. They seem to have paved the way for DANCE, ELECTRONICA and RAVE music. Dance in Peace Keith.
I was with them since everybody in the place . Jumped off when Firestarter came out it was garbage with that psycho clown idiot prancing around like a drug addled moron.
What people forget it all came from Liam but he's never first up.respect and I learned today Liam is a bit like Jimi hendrix about guitar work. Much love and missed
Very lucky to have seen the prodigy in Bournemouth, the best of! and to this day this is the greatest experience I have ever felt and witnessed, no drugs needed it was pure energy thro out the the entire building. They are without doubt the greatest dance, breakbeat, electronic event ever to happen, thank the lord this happened in my life time. Thank you guys....
I’m so grateful I got to watch prodigy preform live in Romania Bucharest in 2007 still to this day the most incredible performance I have ever witnessed the only other group I seen live that come remotely close to prodigy was faithless I seen them in Romania Bucharest aswel both was out of this world iv got goosebumps just thinking back! RIP KEITH FLINT
Rave + tiny bit Punk + tiny bit of Rock + some HipHop + much (Trance) Techno >> all of that with sometimes a bit of Reggae? ... Seems "totally insane" (or impossible) yet The Prodigy did it! ... What some people don’t know is that Keith was a truly nice, gentle and polite human being. His stage persona was unique because he channeled his aggression and passion and let all out on stage. He is one of the true greats ... RIP Keith Flint
Brilliant thanks for posting, born in the 80s raved in the 90s, e's and acid bouncing around out your head with thousands of people connected through music fukin brilliant best times of my life 😜 prodigy played a big part in it and meet dancing influenced many people's styles. Epic time to be alive miss them days so much.
Long time Prodigy follower and fanboy! First rave in Plymouth, 91, my life changed, thank you Liam, Keef, Maxim and Leroy. I've never looked back. When invaders must die was released, I pre ordered, then Keef passed, I still have it, unopened, never played. MY TRIBUTE X.
Thank you for putting this together. I was a big fan when I was 12, back in 1997. Love the music, the style, the dancing. Saw them live at Coachella in 2005.
17:00 absolute legend keithy bro R.i.P i had the red square gig with half hour doc before it recorded off mtv in 98 and was obssessed with it and only found it 10 years ago without the half hour doc. One of the most insane gigs still to this day
The Prodigy are the most important British band of the 90s (only Nirvana are ahead of them worldwide). They changed dance music and showed how it could develop and takem over the mainstream
I remember listening to Charlie and thinking "wtf is this?". Can't say i exactly liked the tune but it did entice me to try and find out about the band and buying listening to the Experience album. I was basically obsessed since then and they were in fact the ones that got me into wanting to do EDM production, knowing about gear, etc. I introduced the prodigy to a few friends and even introduced songs by the prodigy that they didn't know were from the prodigy "No good start the dance" for example.
Fantastic interview/documentation. Brings me back to old times. Thanks a lot for sharing. This video definitely reminded me how much I loathe conformism :)
what a relict. thanks for sharing, thats very interesting - saw it those days on MTV, as a fan from hour 1 its nice to refresh your memories. Sad they were 4 guys at this time, i still would love to see leeroy returning the band. his and liams style are starting to move closer again, so maybe they can close the musical gap and just re-unite. :D
It's cool how a group who used 90% pre-programmed music was still a better, more intense live act than most rock bands you'd see at the same festivals and this hippy guy with brightly colored hair was considered just as scary as Marilyn Manson.
@@andysanger4606 he have no idea at all. When i saw them live Liam played like 4 synths at the same time and by fat of the land tour they had a guitatist playing nothing but non-preprogrammed stuff , and a drummer long before that. Even their dancing weren't rehearsed
Was at the rezerection gig . For anyone who doesn't know . It was located in a hanger in ingilston aka Edinburgh airport .. we couldn't believe they said the bass was to loud FFS airplanes flying daily in and out day in day out . Cant be officialdom.. I guess . That jobs worth I guess is retired on a pension whilst the heroes are now multi millionaires and a band that pioneered a sound that many have taken on as an inspiration ..
It was at Event 1, Rezerections first outdoor rave when they walked off stage. I remember everyone under one massive tent. The following years they started separate tents and it wasn't the same for me.
Me too bro August 1993. Luckily I’d saw them at the Rezerection luminaire 4 months earlier with N’Joi & it was absolutely stunning. They walked off because it was an awful sound system & had to be kept at a low decibel from 12am to 6am & having toured around with them the monitors they had didn’t have any sound so the guys couldn’t hear anything. ✌️👍✌️🕊️🤯
"No one would play Smack my bitch up except MTV". Those were the days. Years later they had every single bit of Nu-Metal on there. Look at what it has become now.. it's been going down for 20 years. They literally have MTV 80s and 90s channels because no one wants to watch their new selections
I just can't get my head around Maxim, Keith was totally humble, a genuine nice bloke. Maxim= look at me, everybody... nah, too far up your own arse mate. When Keith died that was the end of Prodigy as we all knew and loved it.
Grandmaster flash is live 2 times a week on his channel > it's amazing vibe. He's a good dude he is very personable. I ignored the prodigy when they started to do the clown act. IT was better when you didn't know who they were and you just danced to the music.
I still have a set of chairs Keith leant me from one of his rental properties in Braintree while it was being decorated. I treasure them, use them every day. Miss you brother!!
What a true treasure
that is awesome!
want this give away ?
That is pretty cool...
Braintree in Boston??
I will come up from DC & PAY you to sit
on them😂🎉
"Im scarry to people who are scared to express themselves"..Keef..that man was a genius! Miss him so much! 😕
I miss the 90's so much. Such a magic time to be alive and have your brain melt hearing all of that UK electronic music.
Jilted Generation is THE greatest and most important electronic album ever written.
yep, because its from the Holy Spirit to this very generation.
the next album is written to the fat of the land, is biblical in its meaning too
I totally agree! And the opening track (not counting "intro") Break & Enter is the most intimidating beginning of an album ever!
@@Chiromanic love we have someone shouting out about just how good Break and Enter is. Perfect intro.
@@jordanbenson2980 Yes absolutely. Break & Enter is my energy when I need inspiration for whatever I’m about to do 🤩
Still hard to believe Keith is not here anymore. I was kinda heartbroken when my colleague came to me to tell the bad newswhen it happend. I went to the beach staring to the sea and say my goodbye to him.
Rip Keith, may you rock on in heaven.
Same bro I'd just seen them live not long before it happened. Hit me hard af
Poor guy he was suffering
Fuck I forgot about him dying
it fits his image of an out of control suicidal maniac clown fool. he was why I stopped listening to the prodigy.
Me too. For those who were around at that time, he was one of us. He broke my heart when we lost him...💔

My god that must have been absolutely amazing...
Saw them in 1991 and 1992 in the rave days , NUTZ
Я был на этом концерте в Москве - погода была просто ужасная. Но The Prodigy сделали эту погоду незаметной - потому, что все кайфовали от их музыки.
Legends they brought punk rock to a new generation of ravers most of their music still sounds fresh today RIP Keith.
Wow Keith its so sweet!!!!!! i remember him with love . july 2024 from Montreal, Long live to the prodigy and its legacy.
This Keith is all about living intensely, on the edge! Admirable.

These guys changed my life in 92. Seen them twice and they were sensational live. RIP Keith 🐜😢
Fucking legends. Phat of the land was a massive album for me growing up, what an inspiration these guys are. RIP Keith ❤️

I saw them in 2009 and they were STILL putting on a mega show
Great Mini documentary on the legendary PRODIGY!!
This is so good. I had a poster of these guys on my wall in 1998, yet, I never saw this special.
Outstanding video I'd never thought I'd see again, thank you for this! Took me right back to the glory days of my youth!
I grew up listening to Prodigy from their very first music, everyday listening to them on my Kenwood 500w stack system 😅 rip Keith
Hands down to one of the greatest band ever exist.
Music for Jilted changed my approach to music completely ❤

You can see who yungblud modelled himself on...
A lot of people who mashed it up in the 90's found later years harder. Not enough serotonin left in the system.

I still dont understand why he did it... I was heartbroken when the news came in, you know... I grew up with him.
it's unsure whether he meant to kill himself. The coroner's report stated he may have been messing around and did it by accident.
What was he like?
Imagine today you would hear an album comparable to The Fat Of The Land? Well, you can’t.
