Out of all the design styles, English Country has my heart! I can’t wait to hear what you think about this charming style that’s cozy to the core! Let me know if you like it, and if you have a specific element of this style you’re excited to try out in your home! ❤️
My favorite style 💯. Please make more videos like this. We have small cottage to fix and there is ceiling that is not that high . I wondered if I could add wooden beams or it make look ceiling look even lower ?
That’s a great idea!! We’re putting together a paint palette video and we could for sure incorporate various paint palettes that work with specific design styles! Love it! 👏👏
Love all the inspirational designs you've shown here of an English Countryside homes aesthetic. My husband and I went to the UK last year and visited the Cotswolds. We completely fell in love with the charm of the countryside and also the thatched roof cottages 🏡.
Gosh, isn’t it just the dreamiest!!! I fell in love with the English countryside when my daughter was in grad school in London! My absolute favorite!!❤️❤️❤️
I’m only just getting around to watching this video and what a lovely quick video it was 😊, I’m from the UK, the cotswolds is so picturesque, one of my favourite places to visit if my husband and I have a chance for a weekend away…I live on the Gower coast in South Wales, which is also very beautiful and has very pretty thatched cottages. But I think you hit the nail right on the head with what makes up this style, so pretty and timeless 😊xx
English country is a design style I’ve loved since the popularity of Laura Ashley’s designs. I have really thought about including a mural in my living/dining room. There is a local artist in Port Townsend, WA, Susan Harter, who has designed beautiful wallpaper murals that would fit perfectly with the English country design style, and I am sure that I will order one of these stunning murals as soon as I finish installing wainscoting in this space. Thanks for featuring one of my favorite design styles. I also love Scottish country design, which, of course, includes lots of tartan plaids!!!
I LOVE Susan Harter murals!!! We specified one of them for a design project last year❤️❤️ They’re magnificent and the colors are absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for watching!

Nancy Lancaster of Virginia, who designed interiors in England, is associated with the English Country House look. She was born Nancy Keene Perkins as the daughter of Thomas Perkins and his wife Elizabeth Langhorne, a daughter of Chiswell Langhorne. Her birthplace was Mirador, near Charlottesville, Virginia. She was brought up in Richmond, Virginia and New York City. Nancy Lancaster had four maternal aunts, of whom the most notable were Nancy, Lady Astor, a British politician, and Irene Gibson, wife of artist Charles Dana Gibson, who popularized the Gibson Girl. She is buried in Greenwood, Virginia. By coincidence, a couple of years ago my cousin started working at the Chiswell Farm & Winery in Greenwood, which is across from Mirador and had a family connection to i. There is a Langhorne Room and a Gibson Room in the building where they serve guests. My cousin was supposed to know something about the families as part of her job. The people at Mirador told her a lot of things, and there was a book available to her on the family. I researched the family and have quite a file on the 4 Langhorne sisters and their families, mostly from newspapers online. The articles include some about Nancy Lancaster. I also watched vintage videos showing Lady Astor who was in Parliament. So I was excited to see a video of the home of a lady in the Langhorne family. On Dec 4, 2023, there was a video on the Homeworthy channel, HOUSE TOUR | Step Inside a Cozy Home in Richmond, Virginia. Textile designer Sarah Gibson Wiley takes us for a tour of her 1960’s ranch in Richmond, Virginia. Sarah Gibson Wiley welcomes us into her beautifully curated ranch house nestled in the heart of Richmond, VA. As a former interior designer with an impressive 28-year career, Sarah seamlessly weaves her expertise into every corner of her home. The walls echo with the laughter of family memories and are adorned with a gallery of cherished artwork, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like a hug from the past. --- Since I live in Richmond, I noticed this video and watched it. I would say she demonstrates and interprets the English Country style in the best way that I could ever think of, and in keeping with this part of Eastern and Central Virginia, which is deeply steeped in the English Colonial tradition everywhere you go, such as Williamsburg, which is the gold standard of English interior design around here. I home you will enjoy this as much as I have. You are such an inspiration!
