Hi there, just a question about the nut after an extended service interval. In applications which have corrosion, dirt, grime, etc. I don't know if the the tommy bar will be strong enough to break it loose. Further, the hydraulic nut portion doesn't have holes for the tommy bar, making it even more difficult to remove.
Thank you for your question! Many of our customers use our hydraulic nuts in tough conditions. Depending on your concerns, our engineers can make recommendations on a variety of materials to combat the effects of the environment. We’ve previously custom-made hydraulic nuts in a variety of materials for the unique challenges of mining, oil & gas, subsea, and several other harsh environments. In this video we use our standard hydraulic nut. When the removal process is done properly, there isn’t much force needed to loosen the collar and using the tommy bar holes would be sufficient. However, if a customer is concerned about the difficulty of installation/removal, our design teams in the USA and UK can customize the hydraulic nuts to meet the specifications. Please contact us at "enquiries.Boltight.uk[at]nord-lock.com" if you wish to discuss further, and our team would be happy to assist you!
Thanks mate...informative. ❤

I do not see this as a cost effective method but cool design
