Watching this video one tip for attacking at night is Target down the houses with flyers while have the ground focus on the infested non the less it's best used at the end and not constantly
if there are no spotters u can place sunken colonies on cliffs and watch them against air enemies - chokers will have hard time reaching them vithout air vision

You didn't one shot chokers because you didn't upgrade baneling damage
