I've been getting some really odd complaints about the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G in the comments section...everything from the bezels to the screen making people depressed. The dumber the complaints, the better the phone, and I think the A55 is a winner over all...especially for $360!

Some of these complaints are getting a little goofy...means we have a winner!
Absolutely
Agreed..what tosh
A55 is a great phone. I have it. No complaints at all. Makes me think about why i was spending so much money on flagships
How r the cameras bro

Haters are often ignorant. I have seen one who blindly stated that Exynos 1480 can't do gaming. But the silly guy owns a Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G, does a lot of gaming on it, and continues to be a fool failing to realize that - The New Exynos 1480 is just an equivalent of Dimensity 8050 Minus the thermal throttling. Dumb ass. Another great review and input. Keep up the good work. New subscriber from The Philippines.
Bezels, who in the real world gives an f. My phone is on dark theme all the time and especially with OLEDs that have deep blacks bezels are a non issue no matter how thick they are especially if you use your phone in dark theme
Exactly. People don't understand that you actually need bezels if you plan on using the phone without a case. No bezels = accidental screen presses.
@@afanasibushmanov7463
Curved screens is what causes accidental touches
@@GAMIR_SFM yeah that too
Not me. Before the iPhone X, I didn't even know what a bezel was, and I'm sure that most other people didn't, either.
What this phone has going for it is that SEXY delicious aluminium frame.
Watching on my A54 5G..😍😍
i got this for 290 usd or 16.7k php due to tradein of my old dying s10e. it's a huge upgrade !!! this is indeed a silent flagship phone
does this worth it for 320 usd?
@@chockjoph9659 Yeah it's worth it, i got it for 350 bucks and it still is a bargain, it's a nice device for that price.
Thanks for the A55 positivity! I have A51, which has a problem to run the camera now, so looking for an upgradeamd after some reviews I dissmissed the a55 and was looking to save up for some of the higher end phones. The truth is, I am content with what I have, I just need it to run better and a55 seems like a good enough replacement plus I get to keep my microSD card. Thanks again!
Couldn't agree more. They made this phone too good for the price point. Have an s24 ultra and iPhone 15 pro max - but I reach for the A55 (8gb 256gb variant) all the time believe it or not. Those that know, know. This is a fast phone, amazing battery and great display & sound. Mid range....really? Get this phone it won't disappoint.
I got a A55 2 weeks ago coming from a A52, it's night and day. No idea what people complain about. I have a iPhone 15 plus for work and I'm loving my A55. Being in South Africa I paid quite a bit more than $350 (everything tech is more expensive here) and I love it even at that price point. If the performance hold up over time this thing is a gem.
I paid R12 000 for mine
@@iiTzRuben Got mine for R9300 from Takealot
This phone has been official proof for me that high end smartphones should not be considered anymore for the average daily user.
Amazing how far the smartphone industry has matured, the midrange is insane nowadays
I have the Samsung s24 ultra as well as the Samsung a55 5g. I think the Samsung a55 5g is a fantastic phone for the price I paid. I love the battery life and the super fast charging
The A55 is probably the best in the A series so far. Exactly what the A54 should have been and still can be if Samsung wanted to.
It doesn't have all the bands for the US. Not worth the discount IMO.
Moto blesses us with the Stylus and Edge 2024. Decent butget phones. The Edge even has desktop mode via USB-C.
Been using it just fine on T-Mobile, getting top 5G speeds wherever I go. Maybe in your area or something, but if you have the right carrier for it, shouldn't be too much of an issue for most.
I hear you but when you step outside of the populated areas, you may need extended range 4G LTE via band 71.
Also does wifi calling working okay for you?
@@xxxxxeeeee yep, no issues there either. And I'm actually out in the mountains now of sorts.
Thank you!
I bought the A55 as my A41 wasn't really all that anymore. The battery was degrading, the volume down button was broken, and the SoC had room for improvement, But I also have used the A41 from the release till now. I was looking forward to the advertised great battery life of this one. I use ultra power saving mode to get the most out of a charge, It might seem odd but after half a year or more using it on my A41 it's kinda grown on me. It's like those dumb phones with the simple black background, and your not bombarded with notifications. Anyways that again was a bit off track... I use my phone for about 3 hours 720p TH-cam per day during my daily commute, with some exceptions. And that apparently is enough to leave a significant dent in a charge, and needing to charge when I get home or an hour before bed.
Anyways a thing I like about it is the decent network chip, I use my phones mobile hotspot alot as currently I can't afford getting a router and a plan. But it's not bad as I get about 300/400 mbps with it.
I bought my 3 days ago and am liking it
Good!
This samsung hater gives a meaningless reasons to hate samsung don't complain on budget devices that worth every penny ❤
True, I am using my S20 FE, upper mid phone which I bought in June 2021. The phone does not receive any major updates anymore and but still works with no lags to this day. No one knows until they try out the device before saying all these comments. 😃
I wish my iPhone se 3 could last 2 3 days as my Unihertz atom xl,but it's always the same choice -battery life vs camera quality 😂
People are so drowned on specs. Here's the truth. This A55 will still have worth 3 years down the line. Those chinese counterparts? Nada. E-waste. I had an A52 5G from release date with the back cover off and broken power button. I was able to trade it in for 300USD for S24+.
We have some xiaomi from family members, and what. Practically worthless, no one will buy these and 0 trade-in worth. E-waste.
Those cheap galaxys don't age well. I have an A52s with SNAPDRAGON and it's extremely laggy with one UI 6.1
kinda funny when a54 one year down the line lags lmao
@@jaylikesfrieskekwxdxdxd ad-infested chinese phones are funnier. 0 trade-in value. Trash.
I picked up the A35. Came from iPhone 13 pro. Is it quite the same, no. That said, no complaints so far.
My only problem is that it tends to overheat even though I bought it just the previous month. Is it because of the games I have or some other issues? I mean it is a new phone so I was really surprised when it heated up really badly after playing honkai star rail on the lowest graphics for around 15 minutes.
My a55 is heating up when i'm playing heavy games and editing videos.. that's all and it doesn't bother me at all.. when i'm charging my phone i placed it in a way that heat can disperse from rear to end and phone doesn't heat up (i have this thick silicone too)..my only complain is the camera but all its feature is nice though..😊
The A55 is a lovely phone, I used to have an A71, but after 5 years I needed a newer phone. The storage, the screen, image quality, i was thinking of Apple but it's way too expensive. Music quality on the A55 is superb, the son in law wont be happy as he is an Apple nerd and would by anything as long as it has an apple logo embossed on it. Apple toilet roll holder, head have one, bottom wiper, head have one. More money than sense.
I mean, the A51 has slimmer bezels than this phone tho
Who cares ? In the real world ,It's barely noticeable . Also once you put a case it doesn't show
@@Crabby.1
I care and i notice it all day. Is like having notches.
I swear to God people whine about Exynos chips like it's the end of the world. Once they see the Exynos name they'll hate it immediately. People tend to care more about performance than longevity and being stable.
To be fair though, Exynos chips haven't been great in the past. The 1480 is the only one that I'm 100% satisfied with out of all the phones with Exynos processors that I've used in the past. The 1380 was decent, but far from perfect.
The Exynos 2400 is good too. The Exynos 990 was the chip that started this 'Exynos sucks' mindset.
@@pixelgaming7261 both the 1480 and the 2400 are new processors which means that Samsung has improved their chipsets pretty recently. Have there been any decent Exynos processors from 2022 and before that?
The Exynos 1280 has gotten better over the year and so, but it still gets a bit hot and sluggish at times. Otherwise, it isn't terrible! The 1480 chipset would probably be a nice upgrade.
@@TotallyEltonJohn yeah from my experience all of them are pretty bad other than the 1480 and the 2400. The 1380 is mediocre. They improved the 1380 with software updates, but it's not anywhere close to the 1480 even though I think they're pretty similar when it comes to benchmarks.
My only concerns are its cameras. Taking the pictures on the main lens would give me dull images. They're too natural for my tadte.
Cameras are also my biggest concern , weather i should get a55 or not
complaints is indian user proberly
I think this phone is worth 350 and I think this is going to be the new s24 Fe with a chip change. There's a reason why it's not offered in the US
Couldn't agree more . A55 is best option for around 350
Poco f6 is better than this crap.
Go buy it bro
Some People prefer devices from non-PRC brands you know?
Samsung Galaxy ASS hehe...
I have absolutely no complaints with this phone other than it not having a headphone jack. It's pointless to even complain about it not having a headphone jack at this point because only low end phones have it nowadays. Other than that no complaints. I would have preferred a more saturated display, but the colors are more realistic so that comes down to personal preference. Great processor and all day battery life. Decent camera as well. No AI features, but I'm not expecting that from a mid-range phone anyway so I don't consider that a negative. Great upgrade from my Galaxy A52. I ended up selling my A54 due to mediocre battery life and getting this. I made the right decision.
Consider no AI features a positive lol.
He's saying he doesn't care because his current phone doesn't have Galaxy AI.
First! Those phones are absolutely fine, especially for the price!
Congrats!
I love my a55 120hz very smooth hope new update have a color slide bar..
Thanks again for the price update I appreciate it & you.
Thanks!
Most of the hate comments definitely came from the people who still using some "fLaGsHiP KiLLeR" xi jing ping spyware bloated chinese phone or 5 year old flagship phone with cracked screen because the people who already got an S24 Ultra/iPhone 15 Pro Max ain't got no time talking crap on youtube lol
Really a sleeper flagship
I asked on the other video 5 mins ago but. I'll ask here again. How is the tempature on A55? I will buy one tomorrow(thinking to get navy color). How is the performance right now is there stutter lags? Also should i get screen protector? If i should which one should i get? Because fingeprint sensor can get confused or wont read my finger.
Temperature is fine and screen protector is up to you. And I’m not getting any lag.
Let me answer. I am from SEA countries, i trade in my A54 with the A55 the week it released. A54 is a good phone but my issue is the temps and battery life wont last a whole day, and A55 fixes it. I dont get abnormal temps when using the phone (unless you're play games like genshin), the battery lasted me the whole day and the metal body is so rigid i dont feel the need to use cases anymore, but i did use an exacoat skin on the back to keep it from scratches. About the screen protector i just use an Tempered Glass S24+ one because it has the same size and finger print sensor is not compromised.
@@StevealiciousTech Hmm i understand. I have no idea why people hates A55. It is really really good phone on mid-range. The temperature is really good too. Also AMD supported gpu. Man i don't know why people hating it.
@@naoko_nishikawa I see, so the temp is okay and the durability of battery is too good for a mid range phone. Also yes you are right, i held the phone on market before and it feels premium. Hmm so tempered glass won't block the fingerprint sensor. Thanks for feedback.
@@naoko_nishikawa I don't see why all the hate with this phone. I do find most people put a phone down because of the specs without actually using it. I do feel like this phone has a better build quality than my S23 fe and definitely better battery, as I would get over a day with this one and would struggle for a day with the S23 fe. Camera is close also.
Steve's on point again !!!!!!!! No bull..... as always Steve the Truthalicious
Just aquired the Oppo reno 12 pro for €480. I could have bought the 128GB a55 for only €330! What a price..
Luckily for me I can afford to spend a bit more, because the camera setup is important to me. Had it not been, I would have surely picked the Samsung.
The AX5 series phones have been the best in a long time. They are not perfect, but for the everyday users they fullfil the most important needs. Good cameras, good battery life, beautiful display, water resistance and software support. People who complain non-stop are the ones who need things this phone can't offer and that's fine. If you don't like this phone because it doesn't have something you need it's okay because this phone is just not for you. But don't go out and say it's an awful phone because it has a lot of advantages that other Chinese phones on the same price range don't have.
I was considering the A55, but since I use Visible, which operates on the Verizon network, I wasn't sure if it would be compatible. Instead, I opted for an open box OnePlus 12R for $300, and I'm really pleased with it. I used to have an iPhone 15 Pro, but its battery life was disappointing.
Can't beat that price for that.
Bought mine for 280 euros, great phone.
they are just samsung haters
Thanks for the video man!
Why do people complain so much it's a phone it's meant for calling and text first if a lags a tiny bit like the greatest in the world who cares it's not a $1200 phone. Spoiled people I just want an iPhone because I want my friends to see me with the $1,200 phone.
Missing too many bands to use on att or Verizon only complaint. But that samsung fault for not releasing it the us.
Well said Steve. I live in the UK so exynos was the only choice when I bought the s24 plus. I loved the QHD screen but that was it, the speakers were terrible. I bought the a55 and you're right about the build quality but the best part for me is the amazing speakers, they are high quality and I can live with the bezels! (iPhone has them so....)
Here's a toss up for you steve, thinkphone or a55 and why?
Was you ever in sales? You could sell ice to a Eskimo man lol
i just watched some guys comparing s24 plus and a55 displey and he says its the same and i say its the same you cant tell the difrence plus he bought it himself
Hahaha don’t raise your hearth rate…
I actually really like my Samsung A15 I just got a couple of weeks ago. Has a awesome 1080p Super Amoled 90z screen. 5000 mah battery that last super long and charges up pretty quick too.
Has 128gb memory. The cameras are pretty good for what I need.
I'm just stunned on how good this Samsung A15 and what's stillar it only cost $275 Canadian Dollar.
I'm more of a android person I find this A15 beats any iPhone.
I'm not being rude but the only reason you feel that way is because you don't own an iPhone trust me a15 cannot compare to an iPhone 6 I'm not being rude I'm just being honest maybe you should try one you'll see.
@@katinasoutherland7693 You assume I never used an iPhone lmao. I just came from using a iPhone 15 Pro Max 512gb model. Trust me I dislike iPhones. Androids are thousand times better.
Can you install Apk apps outside of the Apple app store, nope. Androids you can.
I rely on being to install apk apps outside of the app store that apps aren't available in the app stores.
Perhaps before you make a comment perhaps you should buy a Samsung A15 and use it for a month to have a better opinion.
I've been using a Xiaomi Mi 9 for about 5 years. I think this phone will be it's replacement. The Exynos 1480 in the A55 is only a little bit stronger than the high end Snapdragon 855 from 2019. But I gain a fresh new battery, 2 more gb of ram, a micro sd card, up to date android. Does it emulate PS2 games pretty good ? I only play PS1 / PS2 games as my source of entertainment from the phone, the rest of the time I use it like a normal phone (phone calls, whatsapp, waze, paying with nfc etc.). Do you guys think it's a good upgrade? Or should I step in and get the Big Boy S24 ?
You need glasses my man, Lol hey im 40 years old we all need glasses eventually. I have the Samsung Galaxie a25 and it's also on dark theme on TH-cam and I have the screen and button lighting and screen contrast and brightness on auto so it adjusts itself accordingly to sounds in the background and the lighting you are in. If I was you I wouldn't go backwards to a 4g phone, I had no idea how far behind I was with a 4g basic LG and TCL phone.
I'm gonna disagree with a lot of the stuff you said. I don't think the A55 is a bad phone by any means but especially what you said around the processor and bezels stuff shouldn't just be shoved under.
Here's my story, I've been using OnePlus and Samsung phones for the past couple years, and I sold my Samsung phone, because I wanted to try something new.
I had always heard of people who complained about the pixels tensor chip, but, I also heard of people that said that it wasn't an issue. Same with the bezels, though, less important.
But after getting the Pixel 8A, man, does this processor suck. Literally it is optimized for nothing. Games run terribly, especially Roblox, and the battery life is absolutely abysmal. I was just on a road trip, and used my phone for streaming music, and the AC was on. The modem used 23% of my battery. The phone did not cool down and was constantly hot.
Not only that, but literally everything happens at 1/2 The speed when the phone gets hot. Like you literally just can't record 4K60 outside. It doesn't work, it just puts it at 30 FPS whilst recording, and even then it still has frame drops.
Like I get it's unreasonable to just hate on a processor because it's made by Samsung, but genuinely this thing sucks.
The bezels of the screen are also much bigger in person. And, especially at lower brightness levels, the quality of the display absolutely sucks. The colors are not consistent, when you move the screen left and right the colors like, shift, or whatever. And, at low brightness, the display around the camera dims almost like it's an LCD screen.
I compared it to my dad's OnePlus 6T, and the bezels on the OnePlus 6T were significantly less.
Also, the processor stuff gets even worse when you put on a custom ROM. I don't really care about the AI stuff but I don't think it's a lot to ask for a phone that works well, at $500. The OnePlus 12R didn't compromise that much, and would blow this out of the water
Needless to say, I've learned my lesson. Never again lol
Also, sorry, forgot to say, the bezels are not even that big (A55) in comparison with this phone. I'm just saying in general, bezel hate can be justified.
You're...talking about a different phone though. I have problems with people hating on the 1480 Exynos...I don't care about other ones in this instance. You should never dismiss a processor just because you didn't like OTHER Exynos chips in OTHER phones. There are plenty of crappy Snapdragons that were released over the years, but people don't seem to dismiss the whole lot of those, do they?
@@StevealiciousTech Snapdragon marketing has done a good job lol. These glazers are out of hand.
@@bassyeyikr
@@StevealiciousTech that's a fair point, I don't disagree with that either, snapdragon 888 and 8 Gen 1 were absolutely awful, I'm more just saying to not completely brush off negative comments
I love my Samsung Galaxy a 55 5g just got it not 2 long ago I got the navy one
If you have the A54, then you basically have the A35 since they're basically the same phone.
There are a few differences: The A35 has better battery life, the A35 has a bigger screen, ever so slightly better performance, better battery life but slower charging, and similar camera performance.
I brought mine back within a week. There is a problem with the fingerprint reader. There are also a lot complains on their community site about it. It doesn’t read fingerprints well, if it reads then it works for few hours and then after that it totally can’t read fingerprint and you need to restart your phone and reapply your fingerprint again and often it stops when reapplying says can’t read finger, very frustating.
You have a legit complaint at least. You tried it, you used it, you got a bad one. No one can blame you for being frustrated.
@@StevealiciousTech that was the only bad thing about it. OS was fine and smooth and pictures taken were really not bad at all for a midrange. Loved the feeling in hand and it was not too heavy and the screen was really good it was almost like you are watching at a S24 screen. Im thinking of getting a new one but at this point im waiting to see what Samsung will do about the fingerprint issue, im in the EU so maybe it affects only the EU ones? My guess is that it has something to do with the software and that they can fix it who knows right.
Mine faces the same problem as well. It scans well a few times after which it can't read the fingerprint and I have to type in the pass instead. @Gabriel52023
Only thing that I want to see for the next release of the a56 is wireless charging, I want to use magsafe cases with these phones.
They'll never introduce wireless charging on the A line, because not having it on the A line distinguishes it from the S line.

Trust me I now feel like I've upgraded to a Flagship phone although it isn't, this phone is just better in every aspect and really meet my daily needs
