Great collection and I agree with you to only keep what you will use. When I was a kid I used to collect sports cards and such but 30 years later I struggle to NOT collect things like lenses. I have 13 28mm lenses for example and many more 50ish lenses. Its my goal to thin out the collection in 2025 as it is a waste of money to have lenses just collect dust.

Yeah, I have 100+ beer bottles I've collected over the years, but they are effectively useless, so they can stay in their cabinet to collect dust, but tools like lenses and cameras I like to try and then pass on to someone else. Sure, they're lovely to look at and to know you can pick something different every day, but as you said, it's an investment that adds up quickly.

Regarding Pentax camera bodies, The KM (What the K1000 is based on), KX are great all manual cameras. ME (if you don't mind aperture priority only), ME Super, Super A, Program Plus are good semi-auto cameras. The Pentax Z-1 or Z-5 are pretty good options for fully auto that don't break the bank.
