- The fallen eagle mod for ck3 is the best ck3 roman empire mod out there! I've been lucky enough to get early access to it and so today we look at ck3 hellenism as we play as Julian the apostate. We shun history as we clamour to try to keep the empire together as it attempts it's best effort to tear itself apart. CK3 Rome has never been so chaotic!

Fun Roman Fact: there was a type of bread they used to make in ancient Rome "panem incommodium". It consisted of two loaves placed in the oven very close together, so that when they baked, they would expand, and merge into one mass. It was this Roman custom which inspired Laith's hairdresser.

It looks like he did some offscreen at 23:23 - he pulled what I'm coining a "flaccid Trajan". Similar, but smaller, kinda dangling there too far down and not long enough to reach the gulf.
This mod is doing a good job them. Be it Parthians or Sassanids, that was the situation for countless Roman leaders who could never find them time to pursue their eastern goals 😂

Thanks for showcasing our mod, was looking forward to this! We're hoping the release will be out soon in the next few days, but there will be another update soon after to address any bugs or miscellaneous features we didn't have time to add in.
I’ve asked before on TH-cam about it being on paradox, but since it’s a new update and all releasing is it possible this time it will be on paradox?

Hello, I really like the map that this mod uses. Is there any way for the map to also be available in vanilla? The current one that AncientConqueror has uploaded is only for the paper map and not for everything else in the mod. It's really good

It's worked for them in the past. Wars against an external foe are a really good way to draw attention away from internal issues. The trick is to win them quickly and have something to show for the effort so that the populace has something to celebrate.

The Macedonianism religion is also called Pneumatomachi, they were a sect that were anti-Nicene and didn't believe in the godhood of the Holy Spirit
To expand upon this, they essentially believed that the Holy Spirit was begotten (or let's just say created because the meaning of "begotten" is complicated in this context) by the Son, and thus subordinate to the Father and the Son, which, according to the First Council of Nicaea, is a heresy.
The mod developers need to change him to Julian the first, also it was his cousin Constantius II that made him Caesar not Constantine
Its a ck3 bug, they really want him to be the 2nd.

Small tip for you Laith: To prevent yourself looking around like a madman for the rally points, you can easily access them from the military menu (hotkey F3) at the bottom. Save yourself some stress!

I get that you didn't accept the 50-year old woman since she was kinda annoying after a while but Philippa really? She is grace and power at the same time. I mean, she could've easily destroyed Rome at this point but she didn't as she was merciful. Better be grateful she spared the empire from utter destruction.

@@carltonleboss More Bookmarks for Fallen Eagle. It also has an excellent 409 AD bookmark (i.e. Visigoths near Rome, four Roman emperors, the Alans, Vandals, Suevi etc. invading and more)
Unprotected Borders means you don't have any forts on your borders
Even though I have never played this mod (which is obvious), I can relate to the pain it is to keep a Roman Empire stable, and I only have 85 percent of its entirety.
You forgot about the very exploitable trade system that can make you incredibly rich by upgrading trade hubs in places like Londinium, Rome, Constantinople, Carthage etc.
Ah Julian II The Apostate. A really big what if for some, but Imo even if he implemented the reforms it would've been to late to stop the rise of Christianity, and his further campaigns on Sassanid Persia would have only increased the hostilities, emptied the treasure and caused further deestabilization of the Eastern border...
And had a great name tbf

@@billychops1280 No, alternately he's also called (but rarely) Julian II and even Julian III because Julian has also been occasionally applied to Didius Julianus and Sabinus Julianus as well.

But also Didius was seen as illegitimate anyway because of the manner in which he came to power

You did a bad -ass job holding everything together. As much as I was hoping you would sit and fight the Huns, killing Atilla is the classic imperial move.
Laith… You know you don’t have to muster every single unit right? Like you can start rallying them, and when you feel you have enough you can click on a stack and click on an X button to stop rallying more soldiers than necessary.
Fun Fact, the Romans did actually press pretty far into the Sarah desert, also.
There was a statue of Roman Emperor Augustus that was stolen by the Nubians, and the Nubian Warrior Queen proceeded to wage war against the Romans after they REALLY wanted to take it back. They won like 2 or 3 battles, and lost everyone else, got a lot of there cities obliterated, capital sacked, but for some reason she wrote the emperor directly with her demands, and for an unknown reason, Augustus just.... Accepted them all. That statue would have its head removed, and placed underneath a staircase so that everyone going into the temple would symbolicly be stepping on the head of the greatest (or second greatest if you're more of an Aurelian fan) emperor of Rome.

We're not even sure if SOMEONE lived on the Feroe islands at this time XD
The Feroe islands seemed to have been populated in the 4t century, which is basically the time where you're playing, and there's no records of that the oldest records mention monks coloniing the place around the 6th century ^^
If you stop to think, being gay as a king was an amazing trait that would bring a lot fo stability, because even if you cheated in your arranged marriage wife, you'd never produce children out of that debacle thus there would be no problems with disputed successions
If you look at historical precedent, accusations of homosexuality were fiercely denied by homosexual kings due to it lowering legitimacy and causing other people to claim the throne
You'd also be far less likely to have a child in the first place leading to even greater disputes over succession.

It is day 143 since I asked you to do the challenge with Croatia in VIC 3 but in one of the videos, a good person named Andraip (Thanks for all the help) said it has a few flaws so it's time to correct them. So when you start playing as Croatia you have 15 years to get your independence, after that you cannot ally, get in a defensive pact, and you cannot be under any kind of protection and you must rival these powers as soon as possible: Austria, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Ottomans, and all nations from the Italian boot. You also must embargo all those nations and cannot enter their custom union nor can they enter yours. You cannot be in an alliance with any of the top 10 nations, including a defensive pact custom union, or protectorate, but you can trade with them. AI must be put on the default settings in case it isn't. If you ally let's say Portugal, and later on they get into the top 10, you must break the alliance. You also must stay monarchy all the time. Form the Danubian state with Croatia following these rules. (FYI incase I didn't make it more specific, you cannot join anybody's custom union you must always at all times have your own market)

Nice video! Just a minor correction: Julian didn't fight Constantine the Great - after all, he was only 6 when Constantine died. Julian rose up in rebellion against Constantine's son Constantius II.

Laith if you just want to remove a 1k stack of peasants and dont want to wait the 10 years of your men rising up you can click on the army that is rising up and press the X in the bottom right hand corner
