Hi, thanks for this amazing tutorial; i have a big question, please. is it possible to build a news agency subscriptions website with woo-subscription or membership? Ex; one will have to purchase either daily, weekly, monthly or yearly subscription to be able to access news on my news website to read. this is my question please.... will appreciate your reply thanks.
@@FrancisAkore1990 hey Francis, yes for sure! I would recommend using WooCommerce Subscriptions with WooCommerce Memberships. You could restrict content on your site to only be visible by members who have purchased the membership/subscription. You also could do 'news agency' things like the Wall Street Journal where they charge $1 for 1 month to get someone to become a member and then $10/month after 1 month has passed. A customer would put down their payment information when going through the Checkout and if they sign up for a membership their payment would automatically run when their daily/weekly/monthly/yearly membership renewed. Of course, you may not want to have a daily membership be a recurring subscription as customers may want to just buy a 1-day pass and could set this up as a product that is not a subscription and then set the membership to expire after 1 day. I go over a Wall Street Journal example in this video: th-cam.com/video/WR9z917pkFo/w-d-xo.html. If interested in the memberships plugin learn more here: sgwp.dev/e97de

Hi there! What I would recommend is setting up a free trial for the 1st month with a sign-up fee. For example, let's say you want to charge customers $10 for the 1st delivery but then $25 (standard price) for all the other deliveries? What you would do is set the sign-up fee as $10 and free trial as 1 month. Customer pays $10 for the 1st month and $25/month for 2nd month, 3rd month, etc. See more here: sgwebpartners.com/woocommerce-free-trials/
@@simongondeck Thanks! That could probably work. Currently the customer can choose delivery every 3-6 weeks. Hey Wahjoe, before answering your question are you trying to set this up for physical products that need to be shipped or are they virtual products (ebooks, memberships, etc)?
I'm wanting to sell digital downloadable products on a subscription basis where the customer can purchase different subscription levels that give them a certain number of downloads from a large range of downloadable products. I would either have a subscription based on a certain $ amount monthly that gives them X number of download credits or they could just buy a pack, not subscription, that they they pay X$ and receive Y number of downloads. Is woocommerce capable of either of these scenarios?
Hi Simon, perhaps you can answer a question for me. I have 2 types of services that are made up of some monthly recurring and some one-time items. My problem is that the one-time items keep adding to the recurring subscription receipt that is sent to the customer.. How do I separate the one-time items from the recurring subscription so that the only thing that shows on the receipt as recurring are those that belong there?
Hi there.. Just want to know how I would have a set physical product that someone purchases as a one off but they have to subscribe to the service on either a monthly or yearly basis.
Is it rebill the subscriber automatically ? Or subscriber has to purchas subscription again manually If not auto thn any way to get automatically rebill or renew the subscription ?
Hey Bin! Yes WooCommerce Subscriptions rebills the subscriber automatically using the payment method they set when they initially signed up for their subscription. For example, if customer purchased Medium Roast Coffee Beans for $10/month on a monthly subscription they would automatically be billed 1 month later. Does this make sense? 📌Subscriptions plugin: simongondeck.com/subscriptions

To add subscriptions to "simple products" in WooCommerce to show both one-time and subscription option on the product, you also need to have the All Products for WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin: sgwp.dev/kdy. Hey, question! I see a similiar question below but not quite. I am creating a website where users pay one time, or re-occurring for content throughout the site. How do I disable access automatically once subscription time has been completed?
Hey there! Are you using any other plugins for your content such as WooCommerce Memberships or LearnDash? How are you currently restricting that content unless the customer is a subscriber? If the subscription status is "Expired", "Cancelled", or "On Hold" you can no longer give the subscriber that content.
If using something like WooCommerce Memberships or LearnDash with WooCommerce Subscriptions, the membership’s status and expiration will now be tied to that subscription; the membership will be valid so long as the subscription is active: sgwp.dev/e97de
Great vid man. I have a quick question though: I know the plugin notifies the customers of when they have to pay monthly. But does it notify the seller? For example, if I sell hair products and someone buys a monthly subscription from me, does the plugin email me to let me know when I have to ship each month?
Hi Edward thanks for watching! Use the Easy Pricing Table plugin to add the yearly vs. monthly option. Easy to setup and integrates with WooCommerce. FYI you need to get the Business plan ($59/year): simongondeck.com/go/easy-pricing-tables/

I do have a question I want to set up a course and people get acces for a month. After this month the subscription ends automaticly. Can this user then log in again and renew the subscription after lets say 2 months? Does Woocommerce automaticly delete the account of people who end the subscription and not renew the subscription?
What course plugin are you thinking of using? You can set this up in different ways. For example, if a user subscription ends, they will lose access to the course but will still be a user (i.e. can sign in and resubscribe). You also could set this up as an indefinite subscription. If the user does not cancel they automatically keep making payments using their payment method on account until they cancel. Once they cancel, they lose access to the course.
@@simongondeck I bought learn dash and I am using the native stripe gateway but it doesn't activate the enrolment button. I'm using it on the kadence theme. How can we change plans design? It looks like a product what if i want to change design like netflix has with texts of different benefits and more, it’s just like a product
Very valuable information! Thanks for making this. One question - I sometimes have clients whose payments fail due to “insufficient funds”. They usually email me, apologize profusely, and tell me to “try recharging now”. Which I usually do on the Stripe dashboard. Is it necessary to set up some kind of webhook in Stripe so that WooComm gets notified for successful re-charge attempts? Cheers.
Hello, thanks for your videos :). Maybe you can help me I'm looking for a way to have Subscription plans on my new website each plan will have a different number of products that are included nevertheless the user needs to have the option to choose every month a different product how can I do that?
Hey, i have a question, in the settings of this plugin, can we define a date of renewal for all the customer ? For example : Matt have subscribe the 10 May and Josef the 28 May, it's possible to say at the plugin : I want to renewal Matt and Josef subscriptions the 15 June ? And tell the plugin if 1 people subscribe the 31 May, he can receive the box for the mont of June but if he subscribe the 1st June, he receive is product on July ?
Hi yes, you could do this. Let’s say you sell a subscription box for $100/month. In the WC subscription settings, you would need to enable “Synchronize renewals” so that you are able to align the subscription renewal date to the 15th of each month. Next, under “Prorate First Renewal”, you would choose the option to Never (charge the full recurring amount at sign-up). Then, under “Sign-up grace period” add in 30 days prior to the renewal day. Finally, edit the product and make sure you set this to 15th day of the month. If Matt subscribes to the subscription box on May 10th and Josef subscribes on May 28th, they would be subscribed to your box but not be charged until June 15th. If someone subscribes to the box on June 1st, they would be subscribed but not charged until their first renewal payment on July 15th. Is that what you are asking? I know WC subscriptions can be confusing. I added your question to FAQ section at bottom of page here: sgwebpartners.com/how-to-setup-woo-subscriptions/

Good question! What this means is that your site is in 'staging mode' and will not automatically charge customer's credit cards or subscription related emails. This was setup so if you copied your live site to a staging site your customer's credit cards would not get charged twice. See more here: docs.woocommerce.com/document/subscriptions-handles-staging-sites/

@@techrooms does your subscription product expire after a set period of time or is this set to renew every month and never expire unless the customer cancels? If you set the subscription to expire after a specific time period the customer will not have access to the subscription product after the subscription expires. For example, you set up your subscription product to be $10/month and expire after 4 months. A customer signs up on December 4th and pays $10 for their 1st payment. Their next order date is January 4th for $10, February 4th for $10, and March 4th for $10. the customer's subscription will automatically update from Active to Expired on April 3rd/4th. The customer would no longer have access as their subscription is Expired now. Note: are you using another plugin to manage the customer's access besides subscriptions? Another situation is if you set the subscription product to be $10/month and never expire. A customer signs up on December 4th and pays $10 for their 1st payment. Their subscription will keep renewing each month for $10 and always be Active unless the customer cancels their subscription. If the customer decides to cancel June 15th of next year, their subscription status will update from Active to Pending Cancellation until July 4th and they will still have access since they paid $10 for that month already. On July 4th, their subscription status will update from Pending Cancellation to Cancelled and thus no longer have access.

Hi Karen, yes, if the customer is buying a product on subscription and checks out as a guest, the customer will receive 2 emails after the purchase: 1. Order Confirmation Email 2. Create an account email with temporary password (because they need to be able to log-into their account to view their subscription).
Thank you! This is great. I have a question as I've run into a couple issues getting pricing exactly the way I want it. Does Variable Subscription have the ability to do the "One-time Purchase"? And or does Variable Product have the ability to present an exact price the way Variations do in the Variable Subscription(setting a fixed price per option instead of a percentage)? So a product would have a One-time purchase option as well as Subscription options/Variables that would change the price. It seems you have to pick one or the other. If you want the One-Time Purchase then Variable Product using the subscription option is the only way(but you're limited to a global percentage off)? Hopefully that makes sense. Appreciate your time.
Hi, is there a way to do a pro-rata (membership) subscription. Our subscriptions renew in Jan so some clients will only buy from March until the end of Dec. Any idea on how to do this?

Go to: WordPress Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions > Scroll down to Synchronisation 2. Under Synchronisation > go to ‘Synchronise renewals’ > Enable ‘Synchronize renewals’ 3.
Hi there, you would have to customize the customer-processing-order.php email template.
Have you done a video on WordPress product review plugins such stamped.io vs Yotpo - or photo review plugins.

If not auto thn any way to get automatically rebill or renew the subscription ?

Hi Simon, I set up membership and subscription. What I want to achieve is access to resources for 1 year yet with monthly payments. For some reason after a month subscribers who did not pay still have access to my courses. What did I miss?
Hi Simon, We have existing customers on PAYPAL and we have to add manually.
Possible to have option either PayPal Subscription ID instead of STRIPE ID?
I don't see the simpel product option. Why could that be? When I click on the subscription tab I don't see anything pop up. :S:S
To add subscriptions to "simple products" in WooCommerce to show both one-time and subscription option on the product, you also need to have the All Products for WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin: sgwp.dev/kdy. Do you have both WooCommerce Subscriptions and All Products for WooCommerce Subscriptions plugins?
Is there other way to add subscriptions to the product without buying plugins

Hi Simon, how we can achieve this: If subscription status changes to "CANCELLED", cancel the parent order automatically?

WooCommerce Subscriptions is inactive. This version of Subscriptions requires WooCommerce 3.0 or newer.

Hey Aldin, did you ever get this figured out? Are you using the Subscriptions plugin on the official WooCommerce site? Is your WooCommerce version the latest version?

Cheers.
It is not necessary to setup webhook via Stripe. Stripe will retry the payment sometime within the next 24 hours.

Hi, Thanks for the video. I've a question. when I purchase a sub, it shows a charge success in webhook (on sandbox mode) Stripe.
But if I as a customer cancel sub, there is no event log on stripe. The admin panel shows pending sub (becasue term period is not over, I get it).
But if admin force cancel it, then still there is no webhook event. what I'm afraid about is, stripe is not notified to cancel the sub and the user will get charged in credit card every month.

I got this error on my woocommerce subscription "Subscriptions Mode: Staging" the woocommerce it has a read label Staging, i would like to know what it means.

@Lindsay Campbell, yes, you need to synchronize renewals by prorating the first renewal + 1st of the year. Here are the steps you need to do:
1. Go to: WordPress Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions > Scroll down to Synchronisation
2. Under Synchronisation > go to ‘Synchronise renewals’ > Enable ‘Synchronize renewals’
3. Under Synchronisation > go to ‘Prorate First Renewal’ > Select ‘For All Subscription Products’ or ‘For Virtual Subscription Products only’
4. Click save.
