Thank you so much, Unmesh. I am cleaning out my late parents' home, and have many ancient negatives to look through--some dating back 80 years, I am sure! This will be so immensely helpful for capturing those old images of family members that are no longer with us. Thank you again.

A tip for white balancing the film would be to white balance for the film strip, it’s the space just above for in between each photo.

hey Unmesh, first of all thank you for your all great tutorials, i found a great additional trick for this tutorial, that is, when you made all the adjustments you made to the negative, merge all the layers and choose auto colour, it correct the image way too much better and helps a lot.

You have saved me money on this video! My Mom gave me 4 films dated back from the 1950s or 1940s and she wanted me to go to Walgreens to see if they could develop them and I knew they couldn't but, I obliged her. Well, I found your video and YOU have done me a favor with learning these techniques. Thank you soooooo much!!

The Epson Perfection series scanners do an awesome job scanning both negatives (color or B&W) and positives (i.e. slides). They actually have a light and scan mechanism built into the top cover. They start somewhere around 200 bucks - which is a lot less than a decent macro lens. They come with film holders for 35mm and 120 format. I've even scanned 110 size negs and had them come out well. And no, I don't work for Epson! LOL

Depending on your camera uma can buy an old macro lens and adapt, or buy an old telephoto lens , remove the first element and use a filter thread adapter to use the first element as a "macro" filter on you zoom.

There was only 1 guy in the neighbourhood who could print the photos from a reel, so guess what, my room turned into a dark room and I wasted a lot of reels.
