@@suebeucke7027 Right!? I watched it when it originally aired and finally after all these years rewatched the entire series again and it was even better 2nd time around. Sadder too lol because I knew the end of these characters was near. As soon as I finished it i was so sad and then I stumbled upon this podcast! The timing was impeccable.

So good! It’s so hard to get enough of fnl. Somehow the bts is as captivating as the world created on the screen. Thanks guys for continuing to breathe life into what I think is one of the most iconic shows of our time.

I know season 2 is everyone's least favorite but you can't deny that Jesse Plemons's acting was superb.

Glenn Morshower too. Great example of how much talent there is out that we just don’t know about.

Huge FNL fan. If I'm not mistaken Jason Katims also worked on Roswell, another great show.

I can appreciate Scott's uncle's perspective on the show. My wife likes "Parks and Recreation" more than I do. I like "Abbott Elementary" more than she does. I used to work for the government. She's a teacher.

Oh I wish Jason Katims would have talked about how season 2 was supposed to end if not for the writers strike. I have always wondered about that.

Love the podcast! Would love to see an episode with Dax & Minka since most of you are linked between the two shows (FNL & Parenthood). 😊

My favorite part of this episode is that the actors and even Jason like to pretend Season 2 never happened

My favorite episode of fnl has to be "Mud Bowl". I like how Taylor rebels against the system and just strips the culture down to just the game of football. Also, I would love to know what you guys think about All American. It is pretty much the largest football show after fnl. There are huge differences but would love to hear your opinions.

So, I quite literally grew up watching Smallville. Watched it from the time it came on when I was in… I would say, 2nd grade? Back in 2001. And it went off between my freshman and sophomore year in high school. And I never had a show that I liked throughout high school. So I would just re-watch Smallville all the time. And I even played football. Lived in a really small town in southeast Texas. Never really played much because of all the small-town political BS. But then I guess it was around my senior year, I’m watching the movie, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, and one of the trailers on the DVD was for the TV show Friday Night Lights (pretty sure that was because Lucas Black was the main star on Tokyo Drift and he also played QB Mike Winchell on the movie Friday Night Lights in 2004). And I had seen the movie, but as much as I loved the movie, it still wasn’t one of my number one favorites.
So time continued to go on, and I’d say I guess it was maybe a full year or two after I graduated, I was in Walmart and I saw the first season of Friday Night Lights. and without even hesitating, I just bought it. Got home, put the first disc in the player, and the rest is pretty much history. It’s literally my number one favorite show. I do love Smallville. It’s my OG favorite. But over 10 seasons, there are still episodes that I don’t really care for. With Friday Night Lights, from the Pilot, all the way til Always in the 5th season, I can watch that entire show on repeat, and never get tired of it. Watch every single episode, and never get bored. There’s just something magical about that show that helps me relive my high school career with football in a more positive way than how I actually got to live it. The show still explores small-town politics, but it also explores people like Coach Taylor, who had a backbone to actually fight the politics. I wish so badly to this day that I had a coach like Coach Taylor. Kyle Chandler killed that role!
It is really funny though, as a sidenote, to know that Kyle Chandler played a character called Buddy on a movie called Pure Country with George Strait. And I dare say his character was a lot like Buddy Garrity on Friday Night Lights.

I loved My So-Called Life and Relativity. I, for awhile, thought I was the kiss of death for a tv show.
