Cause i don't think it's for that purpose, i'm pretty sure it's because Kaito _would_ be on screen and they didn't want him to be. Similar things have been done in the following songs:
-egoist
-realize
-momoiro no kagi
-it was a very beautiful june
And probably a couple others i forgot about

​@@Lightkitty24 They also did that in Sekai wo terasu tetrad at the final individual lines (bokura no omoi, minna no mune no), hiding Emu when Tsukasa sang and Nene when Rui sang (Emu and nene were kind of behind them), guess it was because the idea was having only that one character on screen
