Great video. Just wish you provided the part number for the High pressure switch as I can't get the old one out. Normally closed opens at 410-450 psi. I CANT FIND THE RIGHT ONE.Manufacturers don't provide this information

I added that part number to the video description just now, good catch. Thanks.

Don't think this is the one for my truck. Amazon technical details operating volts 5v contact type normally open. As per your video and by my testing, I jump the socket it has to be normally closed. I did just ordered another one Global parts distributors 1711334. My third try. The descriptions on parts web sites tell you everything but what you need to know. Will let you know how I make out when I get the new one. Thanks for your help Dr.@@DrShock

TheA/C part that I ordered was wrong. Dr. Shock part number is right. If you have problems with part numbers like me, watch his video on looking up parts. Thank you doctor

Great video!👍 I thought that pressure switch was going to crack for sure😄 Darn plastic typically dries up and gets brittle. I failed to replace the service ports and caps on my 1990 Blazer's compressor swap and that's probably why I still need a couple cans of refrigerant every summer. Going to redo the assembly your way.👍

i read somewhere pag oil isnt good long term on o-rings due to moisture causing it to become acidic, not sure how true it is - i personally used pag oil when i redid my ac last week

Fake news/old wives tale insofar as GM vehicles. The GM service manual specifically requires it, as shown.

Do you ever do liquid charge on automotive applications, and where do you purchase your hand tools and stuff?

    • @DrShock

No, I don't charge on the high side (e.g., liquid state charging). I don't have the equipment for that, and I don't do enough A/C jobs to warrant investing in a charging station. Alot of my hand tools are vintage, Craftsman brand from my younger days. Today, for a new standard hand tool purchase I would seek out Craftsman USA tools (discontinued or the current line from B&D) or those from Gearwrench, Sunex or Tekton. For specialized automotive tools OTC, Lisle, or vintage Kent-Moore.

    Instructions to remove
O-ring are probably generic as them make an O-ring kit about $7 to replace all O-rings
    On your old system,
    My compressor shows
    Signs of leaking at this
    Switch, which is there
But not used as harness is attatched at another location.
    Delphi system 98 chevy
    5.7-V8.
    Thanks for your time.
