    I'm always looking for something new to inspire, motivate and encourage my students to speak in English. With this new website, virtualvacation.us/, I think I've found it.
    Take your students around the world virtually and spark students into discussion about what they can see. Get them describing places, people, actions, feelings and even speculating about what's happened in the past and in the future.
    This website can provide the English language teacher with a wealth of opportunities to get students speaking in a variety of different contexts and that's why I couldn't wait to get this video out there. I hope you enjoy it and it helps you in encouraging your students to speak.

    Lovely ideas! Tried this online today, the whole trip to Paris, and it worked really well, we started by discussing what we'd take in our suitcases and where we'd like to stay and for eating I played the waiter and the kids had to order. Then I took them to those important sights in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe and at the Louvre I found a virtual tour as well so they could see inside the museum too. Ended it with the Eiffel Tour, walking around and then I showed them a 360` panorama from the top! Great way to end it by looking around and identifying what we visited :) Then they said what they liked the most and told me they look forward to actually visiting Paris!
    Thanks so much for the ideas, I'll use them with most of my students :) Great channel, keep up the good work!

    A lesson idea: ask students to watch at least two live cams and compare and contrast what they see. This can be done with the aid of bullet points for a speaking activity and/or a writing one. All levels. An example of differentiation is to ask some students to compare a set number of things they see, such as the weather, challenging them to use adjectives, or concrete examples.

    Works nicely in the face to face classroom and not so well on the ZOOM or Teams classroom. Video lags on the students end.

      The video is pretty high quality so I can imagine that's an issue.

    Hi. Is this suitable for a class of 10 or 11 and would you say this comes under task-based language teaching?

    • @CharliesLessons
      @CharliesLessons  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could definitely be used for a group of 10 or 11, you'd need to study the dynamics of the pair and groupwork to ensure all students are active. I wouldn't say it's TBL as it's not meaningful in the sense that the description of people walking on the street isn't reflective of a real-life task.
