My kits are ordered-- I am going to test myself and my father-in-law is going to test as well. All of your stories give me goosebumps because I am hoping that a cousin match is out there for him. His stepfather adopted him after the stepfather married his mother. Later on, when he was about 22, the man he was working alongside for a year or two all of the sudden told him that he was his father. I have been working on his biological father's side for a few years when I have time and have gotten some great information but hoping his DNA results can help boost that success even further, especially when it comes to his paternal grandmother, who we don't know much about before she married his grandfather. Anyway, I really enjoyed this episode. TFS!

It would be a lot more meaningful, if ancestry would give us a chromsome browser and the matching segment information. That way we could see and track the segments.

Can you redo this one? I want to be on it. Being adopted, I'm working on getting with other people of my matches to get their family tested.

Dennis Batchelor have you done your y-DNA? I suspect you may have a connection to a well known religious leaders from the 17th century

I found a story matching my DNA with 1-2nd cousin and he is adopted, never knew his parents. I found out he was related to my Paternal line when I matched him with my father's DNA, as well. I feel terrible that he doesn't know his family.

I have less than 1% European Jewish and less than 1% Middle Eastern. Do I definitely have Jewish and Middle Eastern DNA in my blood? Some sources say that if it shows up in the results, then it's definitely what is in my DNA. Can you clarify? I'm anxious to know exactly what I am.

I was so puzzled when my DNA came back with all European, Mid East, Iberian Peninsula and Meditteranean, but, my dad comes back with the same plus, SE African and South Asia (India). How strange is that? No one knows about this or has any idea that this existed in our genes or heritage.

Asian DNA show up on my test from ancestry.com and my son wonder where it had came from. I was watching a program call (who do you think you are) and they brought up the same thing that you’re talked about in your presentation/Discussion in this video. My father mother,my grandmother use to take my sisters and two of my father Sisters kids and visit her mother people on the reservation in Alabama when I was growing up. I was born in 1937.

I have been trying to figure out how my Englert line got from Germany to America. The name is clustered around the Black Forest, namely Baden and Wurttemberg. According to Ancestry, the Brits brought Germans from the Palatine area to the Colonies in 1710. Germans were used in the Revolutionary War as the Hessians. It's worth getting a World account when I get the money.

I'm adopted, will ancestry give me people, that matches my DNA since I'm adopted and dont have no one, to reference with?

Yes. So you will look at at the matches to see if there are any surnames in common, or locations. Gradually you will be able to put some clues together. You can also look on Facebook for Search Angel's who can help you. You might even be very lucky and get a close family member match right away on Ancestry! Good luck with your search.
