When a game takes formula and ideas from fromsoftware games it'll be definitely called soulslike what the hell are you talking about. It doesn't have to match 100% but even there are elements of those games still be called souls like formula.
Some game reviewers have claimed Black Myth: Wukong not to be a Souls-like because of its difficulty setting, which for one is already customizable in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, its skill-tree system, which Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice also has, and its non-linear level design, which was well relatable to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty along with Nioh 1 and 2.
Uh and because it doesn’t have death penalty which imho is the absolute key ingredient to a Souls like. Otherwise it’s just an action game. And btw that’s fine but BMW is just by no means a Soulslike. It’s an action RPG/ boss rush game and people love it that way so cool with me.
They said it because it is so, it is not. Plus, Asterigo is a hack and slash with few Souls elements, so it couldn't get any worse. Sekiro is an Action Adventure, with some rhythm game elements, while Souls is an Action RPG. Intricate level design isn't unique to Souls.. I've played the other three very little so I can't say.
Phantom Blade looks so fun, and Khazan looks dope too the rest idk but those two I’m keeping my eye on…soulslike or not they’re action rpgs and they look great so far
These all look great. I built my new PC just in time for a lot of next-gen games. Wukong is the first one I've played so far, I've gotta say, I'm liking it ;) But as for this list, I'll probably only play Phantom Blade. I only got time for the best

The authenticity of these Chinese made game is base off of every Chinese martial art movie that’s been around since your granddaddy was born. Nothing stolen or copy. It way better than most of these action rpg we get from the west that try super hard to copy or imitate what the east is doing but fall short.
3 soulslike games in the video. The rest are ninja games, sekiro cheap clones, gow cheap clones, and action adventure games. The 3 soulslike in the video are almost not soulslike, im being generous.

I’m enjoy souls games and like a challenge but not for nothing, these games are getting out of hand as far as difficulty. Now again, I enjoy a challenge but every game like this now has bosses or areas that take hours and days to get passed. I mean it becomes a job and not fun anymore.
