After working with Revit for the last decade I found another way of handling storefronts. I create a generic wall that I call "Opening" and typically make it the same width as the storefront (typically 4.5"). I give it a distinctive different fill color...like pink.... then use it to cut the primary wall. In most cases that is either a CMU or tilt panel wall.
Then I place the storefront into that "pink" wall with 'automatically embed' turned on. Then depending on the jamb and head sealant conditions I make the embedded storefront shorter in length and shorter in height than the "pink" wall by whatever the sealant wants to be around the perimeter of the storefront (usually 1/2"). This process also helps for adding any special type of sills, especially in CMU walls.

Do you know how to make a revit window family that fits in a corner? This solution is excellent, but it means that creating a schedule of punched windows in the model, these curtainwall corner windows will be excluded.

Would you have suggestions on free student versions of a spec writing software similar to Spexx or Deltek?

this window is going to be detectable for window tags?

  • @gbsartworks4963

Well, this wont be viewable in schedule of windows, and you can't tag this. Hopefully you can make a real window corner family that can be tagged and scheduled.

Looks good in 3D but not realistic at all for a project. Cannot tag this as a window as it’s built with walls. Cannot be scheduled either with other windows

Maybe use generic model.. then change to windows family if same as edit profile on the walls.. cmiiw

Well, it seems you just love curtain walls. But this is another tutorial about corner window and again it is only curtain wall. That is definitely not good idea to do it like that! Go into window corner family !
