That's one of the best films I have seen for The Manx. Far more candid in the driver & co-driver interviews, it puts to shame the sanitised nonsense the current WRC lot are forced to trot out. The humour and camaraderie are obvious between the drivers, and Tony Pond is just a master of the quick quip. Really entertaining, so thank you for posting. I grew up on the IoM watching this stuff; sat on the wall at Sartfell watching the cars up on two wheels at the hairpin 😁

Just watched to remember Tony Pond who passed away 20 years ago on 7th Feb, what a legend.

I used to know him as a child. He also had a mechanic called Anton. Well done to him as well for making sure the car didn't clap out, unlike the German one lol!

Tony Pond is one of the best drivers of that era without question. To be able to throw around those big heavy cars and achieve the times he did is nothing short of spectacular. He rarely crashed too. He was also a great character.
R.I.P. Tony. You are missed by many. 🙏

Untill the F2 era, which for a short time made rallying great again.

At 23:47, the camera is on our house front, I would have been watching this from my bedroom window as they came through Sulby village.

Some of the footage was not on the Isle of Man, but on the Great Orme Stage, Wales.

Talbot Sunbeam Ti, Chevette HSR, Audi 80, mk2 Escort RS2000, Opel Ascona, Celica GT, some real classics there worth thousands of pounds today but were ten a penny in those days! 😂
