I do think his episode 1 voice is very cute, but as someone who originally discovered the animated series, his other mysterious VA feels "more max" to me. I will say though, I really enjoy the voices in hit the road because of the accents.

Yeah Max had a different VA in episode 1 of season 1, who had to drop out for health reasons, so he's played by another person for the rest of the telltale series
