Administration has been dismal all over the country and especially in the NE region since 1947. No wonder, hardly any development happened there and people feel neglected and left out. Very sad that even after 75+ yrs of independence, people of that region have to explain themselves and keep proving that indeed, "they are indian". In Manipur BJP politicians have divided the community in order to keep control and very soon, they will chase people from their land, and give it to the likes of Adani & Ambani for "development" i.e. EXPLOITATION of natural resources. This is the proven mechanism of "divide and rule" which Indian politicians got from British and they are following the same policy. Perhaps more people to people contacts and network can create a parallel "development" environment, which can help Manipuris to go towards a more sensible model of development --- people own enough resources collectively, which if managed well, can really make a huge impact -- the heart needs to be in the right place.

Modi has a reputation of sitting on a pile of corpses to have his lunch. He has done so in Gujarat in 2002 and now its Manipur where the land is in one corner of India and so its easy for Modi to ignore it completely. Despite manipulation via EVMs facilitated by ECI, BJP just clawed & stumbled its way in 2024 --- otherwise the people of India would have thrown BJP out of power and Modi out of seat in 2024.
