    This guy doesn't like the Civic hatch at all. I can tell you that the trunk is HUGE. I have had no problem fitting a 65' tv - Big Craftsman workstations - to a yearly trip to Ikea, it fits it all. 👍🏼 Love my '18 sport touring!!

    The lack of safety systems with Sensing (no blind spot monitoring, no rear cross traffic sensing), I opted to save money and buy a 2019 Type R, without Sensing (and I really wanted safety systems). And don't get me started on the "premium" stereo sound.

    I've bought the 2020 SE model, it's brilliant. Tho not the top spec model, here in the UK it's pretty pointless as our roads are small, speed limits and speed cameras aswell as spped humps make getting the fastest version pointless, as an everyday car it's all you need really. Great on fuel. Very safe and mine being the SE only has a 1 ltr engine that'll still give 0-60 in 10s and a 120+ top speed but that's irrelevant in the UK as the fastest you can travel legally is 70mph.

      Oskar I wouldn’t buy a CVT, not yet. I’m curious to see when they start to fail. I’m sure it’s fine if you lease. As far as buying a used CVT car, I’d wait to see. Toyota recalled most of them already. I got an 06 civic automatic outside, Over 200k with the factory automatic still going and I have confidence still.

    • @Phrancis5
      @Phrancis5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nah, the newer turbos and CVTs from honda or subaru are fine. Smooth and efficient with infinite gear ratios and the turbos aren't under a lot of heat and PSI stress - unless you mod it . The nissan/jatco CVTs were crap and older turbos had to cool down for longevity. I've had a CRV since 2017 and it's been fine. No OD issues or anything. I remember when they said Vtec and torque vectoring was unreliable and yet I'm still enjoying my 1997 Prelude SH with no major repairs and practically all original parts.

Honda arguably has the best cvt in the industry... a traditional automatic and CVT from a good manufacturer both maintained properly I believe the CVT would last longer. It has 5 times less moving Parts then a traditional automatic.

    In many ways i like my 19 civic, same color as ur tester. I have averaged 35.6 mpg over the past 13k miles, what i do not like is few: super laggy infotainment, useless right side mirror camera, uncomfortable seats on long drives, way too low seating position, and i am 6’ tall! What i do not like is honda’s insistence in making the civic so damn big on the outside. This is my fourth civic since 1994 and the largest. I always liked the civic for its small size and nimbleness but much of that is lost in this newest version

      If you want a fun, reliable, efficient, "compact" hatch with a stick, you have to look at "sub-compacts" like the FIT Sport. We have the new CRV (based on the Civic) and yeah, it's pretty big in comparison. It's called a compact SUV in the US but considered a Mid-sized in pretty much every other country. The interior room does rival other US mid-sized SUVs.

Of course...I'm no better I suggested a fully balanced and blueprinted small V8 with a redline of 12,000 RPM ...just to get him going. You can't get the Si in Hatch trim other wise I would have done it and I really don't need the extra 25hp and insurance cost and needing to use premium (they really need it) as much as I want the space.

    In the market for a new manual hatch (after driving for 14 years a GREAT and reliable Mazda Protege 5 hatch). Seriously considered Honda until today. Reasons: #1 "Every single one of them has a Turbocharged engine"=They're expensive to fix and you must put Premium gas ALWAYS to ensure longevity. #2 "Cruise Control suddenly brakes the car for no apparent reason"...What?!?! #3 No blind spot monitor system = Really?!?! >>> I hate that in Europe you have better car choices than here. Why not make a good but not Turbocharged manual?! The VW GTI has too many plastic parts under the hood, the Mazda 3 only offers manual in their most expensive trim and rear view is not existent (dangerous!) and Subaru (brand I'm was also considering) has had many recalls lately...so I'm afraid. I guess I'll keep on driving my car until it literally dies!

    I went to the dealership to look at the Civic hatch. I agree the trunk is not that big, the paint is terrible and especially between the hatch and the door jams where it’s unfinished with lots of orange peel. I don’t know if the oil dilution is really fixed, CVT is junk interns of driving experience and reliability. Last this Civic is too expensive and you have to use premium gas!?!? Come on Honda your not selling an Acura here.

    • @PHFilms3

      The civic hatchback is actually really good. Paint is okay depending on color but in sport touring is sharp. Infotainment is better when left on apple car play which is what I do anyways. Is plug in and be done with it. Oil dilution is with any DI engine and not a big deal considering what my German cars and others like focus ST go through. CVT is no ZF but does the job for dull daily traffic driving. I am a fan of rowing my own gears and have a manual for weekends but for daily cvt is easy and good for fuel economy. My work commute I have been avg 36 mpg on highway coming from 24 on my 17 fusion ecoboost. The premium fuel is not necessary but recommend. The only complaint I have is the Adaptive cruise and lane keep need to be perfected. Also the resale value for the hatch sport is much stronger than the base LX or Ex
