It's incredible he not only survived, but 2 days later he was released from the hospital with a TBI. I was freaking out while watching him flip and roll, and getting flipped into the air. At the time, it seemed like everyone had to hit him at some point. I'm fucking hating on Blaney for doing this to him. I realize why he did it, but it was still a bullshit move. Apparently they've come up with more safety features because I remember at least one time when Rusty Wallace was airborne, he got flipped, spun around, pirouetted, rolled at least 6 times, and came out nearly unharmed. Thanks for this video. That was a long time to get him out, and they did an incredible job protecting him.

Plate racing part of issue but Green, White, Checker flag rules cause of this. How many times do we see this bunch cars up on super speedway and they crash many car. That sure saved teams money when you wipe out atleast 1/2 the field

Hamlin did not touch Newman there. but the celebrations were out of place but i think that is Nascar's fault. Hamlin have seen more wrecks so probably did not realise what really happend, it was Nascar who failed to tell him and all others how bad it was. i mean Michael Waltrip celebrated too at first because they did not know at that moment how bad it was.
Watching this video brought back the emotions of that night and how absolutely terrifying it was to see...The fans who stayed back to wait and see if Ryan was ok, to the claps and cheers when they finally got him free from his car, to the man at the end as the ambulance went by carrying Ryan away, with the words 'Be strong Bro'' is a reminder of what a true race fan is...We all have our favs and dislikes but none of us want to see any of them hurt..Never so happy to see Ryan walk out of the hospital with his little girls hours later..Man I love this sport...
