    The 80's seems like a particularly good period for Pink Floyd interviews. There aren't that many from the 70's and the ones that exist don't go into much depth. The last 20-30 years they don't seem all that interested in going into much depth at all because they're probably so sick of the questions and would rather talk about their current projects. But in the 80's it still was recent enough that they would do these kinds of long form interviews and comment on specifics of the classic period more honestly than ever before and since.

      Tenían que recuperar el interés en la critica y en el público después de la salida de Waters. Eso significaba abrirse a los medios. Nunca fueron muy abiertos a hacer entrevistas. Pero aquí tuvieron que hace el trabajo.

    I've noticed these guys are more patient with female interviewers than with the male ones.

      And the lady interviewers seem more interested, many of the men just go like they're being told to ask generic overdone things and zone out

    Aaah, Pink Floyd memories! Recorded this off the TV at the time, and rewatched it endlessly. Still have the tape, too. Those were the days of ONE TV channel, with ONE rock/pop-related programme. The lovely Vera Kvaal was the host of these for a few years, and fans of David Bowie may remember her from an excruciating interview she did with him around the time of the "Sound and Vision" tour. He was bizarrely aloof and dismissive throughout, and Kvaal opened the show with a disclaimer; basically describing the interview as the worst experience of her life. She quit her presenting job not too long after, as I recall. She seemed to get along fine with Nick and David, fortunately.

    An interesting final comment by Nick Mason about not wanting to be a 'nostalgia band', is that they would continue to tour well beyond the production of their final album and play primarily to their fans from their glory days. It's what he's doing now with 'Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets'.

    Questi a 40 anni erano già vecchi e e irriconoscibili...Musicalmente,artisticamente,mentalmente e fisicamente.

      @@midlifemikey2913 Without his "bad attitude," there would have been no material to play, therefore no band. Dave's fake Floyd albums are terrible, a mishmash of hired musicians, and they utterly lack the edge that Roger gave to the band. That said, it is nevertheless my humble opinion that they started to go downhill after Meddle, which was their high point.

    • @midlifemikey2913
      @midlifemikey2913 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your NOT humble, but it IS only your opinion. Fake Floyd albums?! Yeah, okay...I guess the THOUSANDS of people who went to the shows and bought the albums were ALL wrong?! Not a chance, bud. And just an FYI, I was talking about him during The Final Cut fiasco. Say less.

      @@midlifemikey2913 Yes, of course they were all wrong, just like the vast throngs that attend concerts by Madonna or one of our other third-rate performers. Sorry to burst your bubble, but your belligerent twaddle says more about you and your tastes than it says about anything outside of you.

    Nick-“losing a very important member”. More like losing the reason the world know our name. Should have let it rest for a bit and reconvened at a later date. Greed set it.

      ...well, that's what happens when you turn the band you're a part of into your little dominion.It's not fair to the others who put 100% of themselves into it for 20+ years to go and say it's finished, it's over, and leave expecting the others to throw it all to the dustbin. You can't be a tyrant without the others rebelling one way or another. You're in a band, you're not the band. Roger never understood that because he's an extremist and does as extremists do.

      They in no way needed the money. Let’s not even talk about $$$ they’ve made from 50th Anniversary of Darkside.
