How To Make The Perfect Aperol Spritz - Three Ways

  • Today on Booze On The Rocks, we make an Aperol Spritz cocktail and two other variations. One is served at the PDT cocktail bar, and the other is my preferred version. All three of these have a zesty citrus taste and are bitter sweet. However, the PDT version is more citrus forward, while my preferred version is slightly softer. Try them out and let me know what you think.

    *** I made an error in the video, In the last recipe the final two ingredients should read .25 oz/7.5 ml Lemon Juice and .25 oz/7.5 ml Simple Syrup. Look in the description and the recipe cards for the correvt amounts.

    I live in northern Italy, so I kind of know every local variation of the Aperol Spritz that people have tried over the years. There's also a similar cocktail called Pirlo, which is traditional for my city, and its recipe is as follow:
    Build in a glass (usually a wine glass, but just find something that fits)
    1 part Campari bitter
    1 part still white wine (dry, hopefully Lugana, but find what's local to you)
    1 part of soda water to top, so that its stream stirs everything in the glass
    See you on the next video!

      Thank you very much for the recipe. To clarify, this is an equal parts cocktail and when you say 1 Part Soda water to top. That is the last ingredient streamed into the top so all of thie ingredients. Mix?

    Terrific video David! I love the Aperol Spritz in the summer and the variations are great to learn about! It's a terrific time of year for a special on different kinds of spritz cocktails! There are some delicious choices to feature in a video! Italicus and Elderflower go so well in various spritz alternatives! I love using Select as an alternative to Campari along with prosecco and soda but Campari is also a version that I enjoy! I usually go with Steve's ratio and I don't use the simple syrup or lemon - just Aperol, Prosecco and soda with a delicious thick slice of an orange!! That's my preferred way of making this beauty!! Simple, quick and delicious!! Thanks so much!! Have an awesome Monday!! 🙂

    I think I've had one of these...there's a delu/bottega locally that offers it as they're only drink. Went with a friend and her cousin who was visiting, and she just went up and got 3 for us. Too bitter for me, and not much taste otherwise. Couldn't drink it

    What is the simple syrup

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The simple syrup is equal part sugar and water,
      4 oz/120 ml water
      4 oz/120 g sugar
      Heat it slowly until the mixture goes clear. That means the sugar will be full incorporated. Put it in the fridge and use when cool.
