Hi Barbara, That turned out great!!!...I never suspected that you would have turned that hard cover binder into a soft cover.. that was so awesome since we all know how much you love the soft covered journals... 👍 Great job !!
Yay 🎉 the countdown begins! Thank you for doing dephemerember again. I know it's a lot of work, but it has become a festive highlight 😊 I was a beginner when you ran the first one, and there is still so much to discover. Thank you ❤
Super, wie du das harte Ringbuch umgestaltet hast, sehr mutig und wunderschön gestaltet. Die Stoffe sind sehr interessant, Du und Luise, ihr seid ein unschlagbares Team❤.
Barbara, I just love the way your cover turned out. I love it. Ephy is just the cutest little mouse, and so happy. He makes me happy. I cannot wait till Dephemerember is here..This year I feel is going to be great :) Thank you for the Freebie and all the video's.
You're a terrific artist Barbara, I just wish I had your brain. I'm not bad at making journals, and people who buy them, love them, but I know their minds would be blown if they saw your journals! You're incredible. You really do inspire me. Thank you for sharing your beautiful journals with us, I truly appreciate it. Take care and have a great weekend. I can't wait to see the next steps of this journal. xx❤😊😊😊😊😊
I have been looking for a soft cover binder for years! Who knew I could make my own! I made one following your video and I am absolutely in love with the process. I bought separate spines for the binder instead but it works amazingly well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I love your soft cover! I wasn't sure how the ring binder was going to work but once you added the ephemera that Luise made you it looks great and makes more sense to me. I am so excited for December to get here to watch you both everyday!!!
I love what you have done with the ring binder cover. I have made a soft cover journal for Dephemerember but not a ring binder. This is because my arthritic , shaky fingers don't manage ring binders very well. I can't ❤❤wait for the prompt list.❤❤
My fabric bowl and cover are drying now. I actually put a kraft brown folder away for the project, so I was very pleased you and Luise went this way. Can't wait to see the results in the morning and put my scraps in the bowl. I am ready for Dephemerember 😀
Thank you so much for all these wonderful ideas! You and Luisa have completely spoiled us..not just dephemerember but an additional two months before with all these extras treats! It’s super appreciated and very generous. Thank you!, 🥰 I’m really looking forward to December.
You always have the most gorgeous fabrics for your journals! I like the patchwork cover you made this time. I've found an online shop in the US that carries Tim Holtz and Seth Apter fabrics. It's called the Fat Quarter Shop, and their prices seem reasonable. Also, two women quilters I met at a craft show this past summer just gifted me a shopping bag full of their fabric scraps! When I asked them last August what they did with their scraps, they couldn't believe I actually wanted them. Hooray! Knowing how fat your journals usually become, I'm surprised you didn't choose a 3-inch ring binder for Dephemerember!
I’m having a bit of a tough time but there is one thing I’m definitely looking forward to: dephemerember! Crafting always lightens my mood 🥰 This year, I’ve made a December journal with allll the colours, not vintage and grungy at all… so I’m going to challenge myself to follow along with dephemerember in a completely different style 😱🙈 let’s hope it works out and I will definitely have fun with all your videos 💜
Hello Barbara 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 ok gotta say I like your cover idea. I was never a fan of ring binders for journals. A planner yes. You cover is darling. I have your digi’s in my cart so cool. Hugs from Indiana US. I’m coming your way in 2025.
I thought I was satisfied with a retro A5 ringbinder I found but I then switched to cutting down a battered ringbinder and recover with fabric. I never would have thought to have done that. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I too was a little blah with the hard cover binder and was not planning on using if for this year Dephemerember issue, BUT you saved the day! Thanks for the inspiration. Soft cover (paper bags and/or fabric) are my favorite at the moment. ❤❤❤❤❤
Rita 💌
Yep, I’ll be cutting and reconfiguring the spine of my binder as well, when it arrives. I don’t care for fussing with a journal that won’t stay open easily😂.
I just love that you stayed true to what you love and know and also committed to the decision to use the binder rings. As you said "best of both worlds " I don't know that you would have enjoyed yourself as much working on a hard cover that you just don't like. After all, having fun is what this is all about. Can't wait to tune in and work alongside you in my own journal. P.s. those are also my favorite colors but I will be doing Christmas theme. These colors will also work. 😊💙💛
I created my glued fabric container using a small box. The sides are too short to hold anything beyond 3” high, lol. However, it turned out to be perfect size to hold tea bags in the kitchen drawer. So it’s a win one way or another, lol. Love your new Digitals and I might use the Dephemerember fun to create something for next years journaling.
I can’t wait to make a fabric bowl. Right now my fabrics are in a box SOMEWHERE in the house. We recently moved and I’m waiting for a shop to be built before unboxing. Wish me some patience, please!!!
Absolutely love this idea. I never thought to make a journal with binder rings like this. What an inspiration. I can't wait to see how you fill this up.
Oh Barbara this has turned out awesome. It is always amazing to see how you can create something so beautiful from everyday stuff. Thank you immensely for this. I too have watched Dephemerember from the beginning but only taking part this year. So looking forward to it and hopefully I will be able to get the journal cover done in time. Otherwise I will just enjoy crafting along with you and Luise during December. Take care and stay blessed.❤
Fab job, Barbara. I did something similar using individual rings and book pages, however I don't like the way the rings bounce around making the whole thing a little cumbersome. I think I'll try your version. Veronica x 😊
I am inspired to try a ring binder style journal. I have seen the ring spines for sale at different craft stores so I guess I’m going shopping! In the meantime I am prepping some of the printouts and following the videos Thanks for sharing! Your cover is amazing!
I LOVE how you always manage to get the look you have in your head, not compromising😊
I love how this turned out! Ephy is so adorable peeking out of the pocket! 💕

I CAN’T WAIT until the prompt list comes out!! 😂
I love this idea! The crunchy paper inside the beautiful fabric, along with the ring binder- so versatile, is a true winning combination 👏💕
Super, wie du das harte Ringbuch umgestaltet hast, sehr mutig und wunderschön gestaltet. Die Stoffe sind sehr interessant, Du und Luise, ihr seid ein unschlagbares Team❤.
