    Really like the fact Dan that you don’t shun the more common species, a good photographer enjoys the opportunity to create amazing photos regardless of species! Very glad to have found your channel Dan! 👏😀👍

    Wow! You certainly do get around. Another great spot to photograph birds that would normally be difficult to get close up to. 👍

    Nice introduction the the WWT Martin Mere - I've spent many an hour in the Ron Barker Hide. Barn Owls, KF, Marsh Harriers etc. Always a nice little place to relax, watch and eat my sandwiches and coffee. (No crisps 😂) ha ha

    Well worth the wait, Dan. A very enjoyable video. I joined the WWT early last year and am a fairly frequent visitor to the Arundel Wetland in West Sussex in fact I made a video of a "frozen" visit to that site just two weeks ago. So far Arundel is the only WWT reserve I have visited and, from your comments, I think the Martin Mere Reserve and Arundel are set up to a similar model. At Arundel there are enclosures for predominantly non-indigenous species which, as you mention, feel a bit zoo-like but do offer loads of fairly easy photo opportunities, then there are the open wetlands which, in Arundel's case, make use of the natural wet area alongside the River Arun and there I have taken loads of birds in flight photos of geese, gulls, duck, egret, heron, kestrel and red kite. Personally, I far prefer these open areas and the hides overlooking them to the zoo area but, the latter is great for the kids and introduces them to a wide range of colourful and active species. If you haven't already seen it, my Arundel WWT video(s) can be seen at th-cam.com/video/jRyzlfVlo-w/w-d-xo.html and. th-cam.com/video/RVSzM_5DOfM/w-d-xo.html

      Thanks for your comment Brian it is much appreciated as always. I will definitely take a look at your video as I’m always on the lookout for venues to take a trip to and Arundel sounds very interesting. I agree with you that the enclosures are a fantastic way to introduce people especially children to the wonders of wildlife and just like you prefer the wilder aspects of the reserve.
      Thanks again 👍🏻

      @@danwillis_photography Dan, If you do plan a trip to Arundel keep in mind that there are also three RSPB sites within 10 - 15 miles - Pulborough Brooks to the north, Pagham Harbour & Medmerry are side by side, to the west, just south of Chichester. I have made videos of each of these locations during the past year and are each very different.

    Agree with the zoo comment. I went last summer when it started to get really warm so it was quiet species wise away from the kept species. Worth a visit though.

    Do you used Auto ISO with birds in flight looks a great place

    • @danwillis_photography
      @danwillis_photography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I use manual with auto ISO as the bird will move through different lighting conditions so this compensates for that. You need to use exposure compensation though especially when shooting light coloured subjects 👍🏻
