The project was kept on hold because of environmental issues. The point on Mumbai side where the bridge starts has rare mangrove vegetation and also known for immigrant flamingo birds which arrive in specific season, this is going to drastically effect the area after the completion of bridge . Though it is going to benefit to some extent, building infrastructure does not necessarily mean development every time....we should appreciate previous government decision who choose to abide by environmental concerns.

Most of Mumbai is under reclaimed land. Dubai has build many projects on reclaimed land. Everything would be fine. Only if sea level rise then entire world would be in deep trouble ✌️ which is going to happen in future
Tectonic plates are nowhere near arabian sea so there is negligible chance of tsunami. You can search for 'Ring Of Fire' to know the areas where chances of tsunami are high.
