The only Kpop GG that is very diverse in my opinion. Their diversity in terms of vocal, dance, rap, visuals, attitude, charisma and presence is speaking into their performances. That's what makes them good, different characters and styles that every member can offer is crazy good.

I have been a kpop fan since 2013. But after stanning Blackpink, I realized something that I have never been before. You don't have to interact with other blinks, you don't have to show the world you are a blink, as long as you love them equally, you can be the best blink ever in the whole fandom. I started stanning them and I was also thirsty for their contents. But i never gave up. I stopped being a multifan. Recently, there are lots of mess, contriversies surrounding them. i was so sad about the mistreatment but i still keep supporting them like before. There was no change. I am still a loyal blink. I don't need their constructive criticisms they don't affect me at all. So, loyal and genuine blinks out there, we are the pillars of Blackpink. They make money from us but it doesn't matter because they need us, care, want and especially love us. To them, we are their treasures.

YG (as much as I don't want to say this) really did a good job. I know that in Kpop comebacks are literally monthly, but that's not common everywhere. It's smart cuz new blinks can get to know all their songs and find their content. It was smart as much as it annoys kpop stans, for people who never know kpop, its fine (and really nice) for them. Also, the brand deals was super smart. When I take off the kpop stan lens, his plan worked. The "blackpink hate train" is going to die in the future for sure because I can see blackpink getting legit albums now that they are soooo well known. i like this video so much. especially on how they explain Blackpink's Brand. That's so accurate. the quality over quantity. The exclusivity. I'm okay with BP having one song comeback every year, but at least have them a B-side. Ever since their debut, BP format is different in every kpop group. The fact that their boss told their stylist to clothed them in designer brands so that they're different from other groups says something. And to continue it until today is amazing. That's why their MV not only focus on the music, they also focus on the visuals - the outfits especially now that they're ambassadors/muses of high fashion brands. BP not only singers, they're also models. That's a fact and that is part of the their brand. They don't want to dominate not only the music industry, but the other part of entertainment industry. and that is one of the best strategy of their group. the best part is, BP did it flawlessly. you can tell that other group is copying their brand but no one comes close, given the long hiatus of BP, they're nit able to reach what BP did. That's what haters or their antis so pressed. They cannot accept how BP became a huge GG with only few songs.

This is so true. And especially with the "comebacks". I think there's a different standard between the West and Korea when it comes to comebacks. Take an example Green Day. American Idiot was released in 2004. And their next album 21st Century Breakdown was released in 2009. So there is a 5 year gap between the releases. But it doesn't mean that in those gap years they were doing nothing, they're touring and making new material. Western artists are able to maintain relativity and longevity despite not releasing new material for years (Queen as stated in the video). Whereas in the Korean standard, you have to have a comeback every year. And in a year you have maybe 2 or 3 comebacks. And it also boils down to what is "K-Pop". As much as we admit it or not, the Idols are products, they're something that is meant to be consumed. It's business. They're like made in a lab, from how they should act, sing, and how they present themselves. That's why they kinda have strict rules imo. So I feel like if they don't have comebacks the companies will lose money and they all invested so much into building them, so they might disband because they're not making money. That's why they have their own reality shows and they do those guestings (?) which btw helps them a lot to stay relevant and something we can consume while no new music. Not so sure how it goes for the solo artists in K-Pop, this is only for the groups. And all of these are just my observations on K-Pop. Also imo, it really did work well for Blackpink. They're still growing. YG is really smart for doing this. Sorry this became too long.
@@spiniks8535 yeah. When I get first into kpop (not literally whole Kpop because I only check few groups and solo artist) especially with Blackpink, I'm confused with the comeback issue. Because I'm used to western artist or even here in our country that singers doesn't release song every quarter of the year or twice a year. Sometimes they release after a year (minimum) or two years or even after 4 years. Because releasing a song is not a piece of cake. There's a lot of process on it. Then the issue of BP without a full album. I get it, but they release 2 EP already plus the 5 first songs. They also release BP house. So literally, BP is not what a standard KPOP group is that kpop fans are used to. then last year, after their Kill This Love Era, fans are demanding their comeback when they knew BP is on world tour and performing in festivals. I don't get the hate because they don't have a comeback. They have BP diaries and the modelling gig. They're not doing nothing. additionally, the modelling career - high fashion brands, becoming global ambassador/muses, cover in the magazines, attending fashion show, commercials were one of the reasons why BP is globally known. Not just because of their music. I get it, fans wants music but then when they release, they commenting everything they don't like. People this days are so hard to please.

Listened to K-Pop again during the pandemic lol and I've never seen those until videos have been popping up on my feed about how BP was mistreated, why their music are the same and it's frustrating, little discography, they're more of models than musicians, why they feel so unnatural and manufactured, etc. Like a lot of those issues. Though I do get the point of their criticisms and where they are coming from. Like the little discography. Tho that could be remedied if they release more B-Sides along side the Lead Single. The sounding "generic" kinda feels like that is their brand? Like you would know it is BP if you hear them or when someone mentions them you'd initially know what their visuals are and what they sound like. I mean they're still hits. And it made money so in a business standpoint that's great. I think it also boils down to how YG really is marketing them or tells them what to do. I think if they hold BP in a Korean standard, then yes it is agreeable that they really are unusual for the typical K-Pop group. Personally, I think BP is more than K-Pop already. They're like the most popular group alongside BTS (BTS is a different story and I'd still regard them as a K-Pop group). But with BP, it's like they're pop culture icons already? If they're not held in the Korean Standard they're actually a normal group tbh so it isn't surprising that they don't have comebacks like twice a year. I mean they have activities in between so it's not like they're out of the limelight. Hell they're the most popular group and the most followed on IG. And even the most popular or most known idol all over the world is Lisa, who isn't even Korean to begin with. And people should also understand that it takes a lot of money to produce new material from the music itself to the MVs and to the marketing. As for them being models, you're right. It is an activity for them. Their visuals are just different from the usual. Hence why they get those modeling gigs. I haven't seen any other idol that are modeling on the same level as them? (Sorry not too in into K-Pop yet) But the company is smart to take advantage of their visuals. A very low risk high reward investment. BP really keeps YG afloat (not saying that their other groups aren't but probably a big chunk comes from BP). And the deals they have are the reasons why K-Pop is still on the rise on the other side. I'd also add that they have their own individual identities that they're not even tied to the BP brand which makes it feel like they're not as cohesive as other groups (in a sense that if you're just a casual fan you would just know the group and sounds, not needing to memorize who the members are and their personalities unlike in BP where you'd know each member).

I started stanning them and I was also thirsty for their contents. But i never gave up. I stopped being a multifan. Recently, there are lots of mess, contriversies surrounding them. i was so sad about the mistreatment but i still keep supporting them like before. There was no change. I am still a loyal blink. I don't need their constructive criticisms they don't affect me at all. So, loyal and genuine blinks out there, we are the pillars of Blackpink. They make money from us but it doesn't matter because they need us, care, want and especially love us. To them, we are their treasures.

listening to blackpink gives me lots of confidence and i love their music so much, it makes me feel like a badass. not gonna lie, as a blink i hate that we get a comeback one a year but recently YG has been giving us much more content and music which makes me happy as a fan!! just speaking about the business side of blackpink i think their marketing with one comeback a year is genius. when they drop new music it is like a whole event internationally and they break records left & right, no other girl group comes close to their popularity. the image of blackpink screams high class and untouchable. especially with the girls as top fashion brands ambassadors/muses of chanel, YSL, Dior, Prada, Bvlgari , etc. ALSO can we talk about the DUALITY of blackpink, it is insaneeee!!!! how they are on stage vs. off screen.

It’s a YG thing. YG don’t let their artists attend shows that will downplay his artists worth. It started with BIGBANG. And then all YG artists follow. And then SM too stop sending his artists. YG said it before, if they want to give award just give it. But those shows (award shows demand for free performance) and if they don’t attend they will give the award to other artists which is bs. That’s why you rarely see them.

YG (as much as I don't want to say this) really did a good job. I know that in Kpop comebacks are literally monthly, but that's not common everywhere. It's smart cuz new blinks can get to know all their songs and find their content. It was smart as much as it annoys kpop stans, for people who never know kpop, its fine (and really nice) for them. Also, the brand deals was super smart. When I take off the kpop stan lens, his plan worked. The "blackpink hate train" is going to die in the future for sure because I can see blackpink getting legit albums now that they are soooo well known. After this year's album (which i'm gonna assume will do super well), next year they will have an even bigger album not just cuz they are blckpink but cuz the music will increase more. idk i have this feeling.

It really is cool seeing more Asians part of mainstream pop culture in this way. Walking through Target anywhere in America and seeing BlackPink (and BTS) merchandise and in teen magazines brings tears to my eyes as an naturalized Asian American.
i like this video so much. especially on how they explain Blackpink's Brand. That's so accurate. the quality over quantity. The exclusivity. I'm okay with BP having one song comeback every year, but at least have them a B-side. Ever since their debut, BP format is different in every kpop group. The fact that their boss told their stylist to clothed them in designer brands so that they're different from other groups says something. And to continue it until today is amazing. That's why their MV not only focus on the music, they also focus on the visuals - the outfits especially now that they're ambassadors/muses of high fashion brands. BP not only singers, they're also models. That's a fact and that is part of the their brand. They don't want to dominate not only the music industry, but the other part of entertainment industry. and that is one of the best strategy of their group. the best part is, BP did it flawlessly. you can tell that other group is copying their brand but no one comes close, given the long hiatus of BP, they're nit able to reach what BP did. That's what haters or their antis so pressed. They cannot accept how BP became a huge GG with only few songs.
Ikr people be shouting for 2-3 comebacks like other groups . But that's not needed always. Whatever we get that's top tier.

This is so true. And especially with the "comebacks". I think there's a different standard between the West and Korea when it comes to comebacks. Take an example Green Day. American Idiot was released in 2004. And their next album 21st Century Breakdown was released in 2009. So there is a 5 year gap between the releases. But it doesn't mean that in those gap years they were doing nothing, they're touring and making new material. Western artists are able to maintain relativity and longevity despite not releasing new material for years (Queen as stated in the video). Whereas in the Korean standard, you have to have a comeback every year. And in a year you have maybe 2 or 3 comebacks. And it also boils down to what is "K-Pop". As much as we admit it or not, the Idols are products, they're something that is meant to be consumed. It's business. They're like made in a lab, from how they should act, sing, and how they present themselves. That's why they kinda have strict rules imo. So I feel like if they don't have comebacks the companies will lose money and they all invested so much into building them, so they might disband because they're not making money. That's why they have their own reality shows and they do those guestings (?) which btw helps them a lot to stay relevant and something we can consume while no new music. Not so sure how it goes for the solo artists in K-Pop, this is only for the groups. And all of these are just my observations on K-Pop.
Also imo, it really did work well for Blackpink. They're still growing. YG is really smart for doing this. Sorry this became too long.
@@spiniks8535 yeah. When I get first into kpop (not literally whole Kpop because I only check few groups and solo artist) especially with Blackpink, I'm confused with the comeback issue. Because I'm used to western artist or even here in our country that singers doesn't release song every quarter of the year or twice a year. Sometimes they release after a year (minimum) or two years or even after 4 years. Because releasing a song is not a piece of cake. There's a lot of process on it. Then the issue of BP without a full album. I get it, but they release 2 EP already plus the 5 first songs. They also release BP house.
So literally, BP is not what a standard KPOP group is that kpop fans are used to.
then last year, after their Kill This Love Era, fans are demanding their comeback when they knew BP is on world tour and performing in festivals. I don't get the hate because they don't have a comeback. They have BP diaries and the modelling gig. They're not doing nothing.
additionally, the modelling career - high fashion brands, becoming global ambassador/muses, cover in the magazines, attending fashion show, commercials were one of the reasons why BP is globally known. Not just because of their music. I get it, fans wants music but then when they release, they commenting everything they don't like. People this days are so hard to please.

Listened to K-Pop again during the pandemic lol and I've never seen those until videos have been popping up on my feed about how BP was mistreated, why their music are the same and it's frustrating, little discography, they're more of models than musicians, why they feel so unnatural and manufactured, etc. Like a lot of those issues. Though I do get the point of their criticisms and where they are coming from. Like the little discography. Tho that could be remedied if they release more B-Sides along side the Lead Single. The sounding "generic" kinda feels like that is their brand? Like you would know it is BP if you hear them or when someone mentions them you'd initially know what their visuals are and what they sound like. I mean they're still hits. And it made money so in a business standpoint that's great. I think it also boils down to how YG really is marketing them or tells them what to do. I think if they hold BP in a Korean standard, then yes it is agreeable that they really are unusual for the typical K-Pop group. Personally, I think BP is more than K-Pop already. They're like the most popular group alongside BTS (BTS is a different story and I'd still regard them as a K-Pop group). But with BP, it's like they're pop culture icons already? If they're not held in the Korean Standard they're actually a normal group tbh so it isn't surprising that they don't have comebacks like twice a year. I mean they have activities in between so it's not like they're out of the limelight. Hell they're the most popular group and the most followed on IG. And even the most popular or most known idol all over the world is Lisa, who isn't even Korean to begin with. And people should also understand that it takes a lot of money to produce new material from the music itself to the MVs and to the marketing.
As for them being models, you're right. It is an activity for them. Their visuals are just different from the usual. Hence why they get those modeling gigs. I haven't seen any other idol that are modeling on the same level as them? (Sorry not too in into K-Pop yet) But the company is smart to take advantage of their visuals. A very low risk high reward investment. BP really keeps YG afloat (not saying that their other groups aren't but probably a big chunk comes from BP). And the deals they have are the reasons why K-Pop is still on the rise on the other side. I'd also add that they have their own individual identities that they're not even tied to the BP brand which makes it feel like they're not as cohesive as other groups (in a sense that if you're just a casual fan you would just know the group and sounds, not needing to memorize who the members are and their personalities unlike in BP where you'd know each member).
