    Dough:
    (Use 1/2 of the recipe below)
    2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 cup warm water
    1 teaspoon yeast
    2 tablespoons sugar
    pinch salt
    1 teaspoon coconut oil
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    Filling
    250 grams mushrooms
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
    1/2 teaspoon sugar
    1 teaspoon garlic minced
    2 teaspoons cornstarch with 3 tablespoons water

    My favorite thing to make with Bao Buns is a dessert one with apple pie filling. They are just amazing in general because you can fill them with almost anything and have it come out great.

    Hey Big Sis! I thought I'd stop by and say hey!
    I realized how much of an impact the TH-cam "family" has had on me. I've gone through some pretty dramatic life changes in the past one or two years. Thinking about you, how your mom going through what she did catapulted you into veganism. Hope you're doing well today. My kidney disease catapulted me into it. Also some documentaries. Economically, for me, it's really hard to stay strictly vegan, but I do what I can. Try to make as little of an impact as possible. Thanks for giving such positive content. I really think some of these recipes you're making will be the difference between somebody giving up, and having the strength to keep on going down their health journey, and responsibility-taking.

    I am a "first time" steamed buns maker. I love your custard recipe -- it is delicious. I've tried others and they aren't as good as yours. Tomorrow I will make my dough and attempt to assemble and steam the buns. Could you give tips on how to freeze these, refrigerate, how to microwave or re-steam them? Also, once we get comfortable with the dough and steaming process, we could try our own savory combinations? Thank you!!

    Hi, I feel like i missed a step. After kneading the dough in the mixer and then letting it rest for an hour, my dough got really puffed up. I punched it down and then tried to divide it but it was so loose. It didn’t look like the nice round ball like in the video. It was so moist i could barely handle it. How did it get from that really loose dough to the solid ball? I was able to work it into smaller balls and roll them out, but the dough didn’t hold the shape ( the folds got all melted together) there weren’t any creases and looked almost like man tou. It tasted good though and it was really fluffy
