I remember when Hugo Besson was entering the NBA draft in 2022, he was projected to be a 1st rd pick. Many scouts were very high on this kid and his offensive skills, as was I. Besson is a very creative scorer and passer, along with being a sneaky good athlete. If they bring him to this upcoming summer league, we might be looking at a player worth keeping on the team in some capacity 👍🏾
Sorry to say this as a long term knicks supporter, but Sims looked completely lost every time he played, like he didn't know the offense and he never played defense either. Such a waste of a good big man body with little basketball game. No tears shed for this trade at all. Orange and blue skies all day.

Yeah Huk is the total opposite.. at times over-anxious to where he be fouling too much.. but I would rather that.. need a big man or two that will rough the defense up some..

@@Sam-ie1hi Knicks weren’t gonna extend Obi for $58M. He’s in basically the same exact role in Indy with similar playing time and stats as with the Knicks. It’s not like the chains came off and he made some great leap in his career. He’s a journeyman career backup with a limited skill set and profile.
This trade gives the Knicks a little bit more flexibility this summer/next year, and in my opinion brings in a guy who can replace Shamet’s poor production and defense in spot mins. I hope Sims finds a role there, nothing against the guy, but I wouldn’t count on anything but 3rd string/injury backup minutes, presuming Lopez and Portis stay put.

It appears Delon Wright has amazing hands on defense with deflections and a mean Eurostep in transition. Seems were gonna have a fast-paced defensive bench who all thrives in transistion with catch-n-shoot 3's stop n pops', and coast to coast layups. Sounds amazing as long they don't get slowed down to half-court and need to makes passes! That could turn into a lot of turnovers or clock violations, lol smh.
Finally. That dude was hot garbage not a single nba ready skill. Huk is so much better

This is a low risk, any reward trade. The Simsulation was likely not going to get any better or be any better with the Knicks. So the FO does right be him (send him to hometown) and team (if D Wright gives anything its a plus). I believe there was no better offer Leon & Co could have gotten for Sims. I will continue to trust them, go KnIcks!

Why was this trade necessary? The Knicks could or should try to get one or more of these guys before the trade deadline: DeAndre Hunter, Jakob Poeltl, Collin Sexton, Nic Claxton, Myles Turner, Luke Kennard, Miles Bridges, Dejounte Murray, Max Strus, Wendell Carter, Cam Johnson (I would wish for Cam Thomas but that would likely be too much and he's out for the season...I think) or DeAndre Ayton.
Why? The team got beaten by the Lakers WITHOUT Anthony Davis. I'm unsure why they're acting as if they're fine. Newsflash: They're not. I'm unsure why KAT can't dominate smaller guys. Why can't the Knicks do more ally oops with him to get over the heads of smaller guys? Also why doesn't Thibs give Ariel Hukporti a real chance so that we can see his skill level? Even if he plays just 20 minutes, everyone can see how good he is. He can drive to the rim, rebound, block shots, finish on pick n' rolls, finish on ally oops and pass. How could that not be good and couldn't that have helped them against the smaller Lakers?

I like Mitch too...but he spends most of the time on the bench watching the team just like the fans are. Anyone can be traded. Look at Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram and PJ Tucker. Lol. Why is it that other teams can find 3 or even 4 team trades that benefit them and the Knicks can't? Remember people were saying that they couldn't get OG Anunoby and I was suggesting that they could & should put that lawsuit aside? Why? Well because it would benefit both teams and that Toronto would do it because it would benefit them? They did and it worked: Precious Achiwua AND OG Anunoby were brought in which helped improve the team.
Well now...they need to step up again and make a good deal that brings in some guys that benefit the team: a wing, a scorer and a center. They missed out on Mark Williams, Kyle Kuzma, Jonas Valanciunas (though he's older) and Nick Richards. But there are others. It's not too late.
