Heres the protocol my dude: Pennsylvania v. Mimms, 434 U.S. 106, is a United States Supreme Court criminal law decision holding that a police officer ordering a person out of a car following a traffic stop and conducting a pat-down to check for weapons did not violate the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution
@@ActiœnMan it does. The reasoning stated in the Mimms case as to why an officer can lawfully order anyone in a pulled over car, not just the driver, is officer safety. So, a court will almost certainly defend an officer ordering a citizen back into their car if they simply say that it is for both the safety of the officers on scene and the individual being ordered.

It's extremely rare for an unarmed person who was doing nothing wrong to be killed by the police. Many race hustlers out there try to act like when the police kill someone, that the person who was killed was just minding their own business and the police went crazy. That's virtually never the case. It's usually just like in this video... the guy is acting suspicious, being argumentative, then takes off on a police chase, and then ends up pulling out a gun and he gets shot. That's usually how it happens. And sometimes the police think he's pulling out a gun, but it turns out he wasn't and that's how you get "unarmed shootings". It's almost never that the police just kill someone who is doing nothing wrong. When someone runs from the police and doesn't listen to what they're telling them to do, their chances of it ending tragically go up dramatically, whether the result is justified or not. Mistakes can be made in the heat of the moment.
Rolling up the windows with heavily blacked out windows of a high performance sports car was seen as a prelude to an armed attack. The police are always on edge around high end sports cars anyway since a significant percentage of the ones stopped for traffic violations have been stolen. The football player in question already publicly admitted he could have done better by not rolling up the window when told not to. The degree of aggression might have been out of line, but it probably came from genuine fear on both sides.
The problem is that the cases where it really did go super wrong and there were real issues with police conduct, get so much publicity, that it - in this case at least - creates an environment where people are so afraid of police that they massively increase the risk of the situation with their fight or flight behavior. Just imagine he would have not been clearly visible in the open when they found him and maybe pulled something from his picket, did some sudden movements etc. Because at that time, his behaviour had given the cops so much more grounds to be afraid for their lives, than he ever realistically had at any point. He could have been one more case of what he was scared of, just BECAUSE he was scared and acted from a place of irrational fear. The way this played out, believing in his social media bubble and taking his facts only from there got him charges and quite a bit of financial loss due to those damages. It could have cost him his life...
That has no bearing on how Miami police should have conducted themselves. Unless they were conducting a felony stop or the suspect has a history of violence towards law enforcement, they should have treated him as respectfully as you would someone's grandfather. Those cops were looking for a fight.
@@peensteen History of violence is enough. It can be directed toward the general public or LEO. I've seen several of these videos in a longer version and then an edited version for another channel and the edited version makes the cops look like jerks who reacted too quickly and were brutal, but the fact is the punks were out of control, screaming in the cops face and just in general behaving badly. There are hundreds of documented cases of police being violent racists, but these police officers were absolute professionals. These guys were even more patient than they had to be. Not escalating the situation unnecessarily is good, but that guy refused to exit the vehicle when they had probable cause for a search for far too long. After the first two minutes of refusal, they should have dragged his ass out, and then that DoorDash guy would still have a functioning vehicle for his job.
I think he probably had an illegal gun or drugs on him which is why he was so hesitant to step out and let them search, and that he probably was able to dispose of it when he took them on a chase, which is why he surrendered so easily when the police found him again
