It’s ancient years Chinese children like to play with friends, the kids in China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Northern Europe still play today.
These full grown girls still playing Chinese game which is great mental and exercise and cost zero $$$$.
My roommate still play video games all day in his bedroom.

Im from Oakland California and my sisters and I played Chinese Jump Rope as little girls using our mom’s rubber bands. We used to play jump in, jump out, side to side and step on. We also used to do cartwheels to jump inside. I haven’t thought about this game in so long. Thank you for bringing this childhood memory back.

This brought back such fond memories. I a from Brooklyn New York and as a child we played this game. The only difference was we never rise the rope. It stayed at our ankles. Thanks for the memories Rosa. 🙏🏾🥰👍🏾
Same here. So long ago, the memory is vague. I do know we kept the rope down by our ankles. No video games or social media for us. You had to get out, be active.
We played this in India, when I was younger. The height of the rope rises as you progress.

It's so important to put aside stresses of the day for at least a little when we can. He is often smiling, and seems to have a sense of humor already, but it was really made me smile to see your husband's elder brother participate. I understand that he has had responsibilities beginning earlier in life than is customary, so it comforting to see that he has maintained a sense of joy.

I remember playing Chinese Jump rope as a kid! I was really good! I could jump to ear level 😅 Honestly, Rose has an amazing life. Single women out there should consider marrying rural Chinese men. Apparently, there is a shortage of women to marry in rural China. Many rural Chinese men end up marrying West and Central African rural women because the culture and mindset is very similar. Lots of documentaries on TH-cam about this phenomenon. 👌
*Those homemade sweet rolls look delicious* . ( *I might try and put a mixture of cinnamon & sugar in between as the dough is being rolled and then circled to touch at ends. I'm thinking this might give them a nice sweet taste inside* ) .
*These will be wonderful to serve with tea/coffee* .

We would play Chinese jump rope (or a game similar to this I can’t quite remember) in Jamaica when I was a kid and in primary school… very fond memories

I remember doing Chinese jump rope in the 70s! I don't remember the moves, but I remember it going from ankle up to neck! So much fun! And Jacob's Ladder with our fingers and string!

I used to play these games with my friends. We didn't have social media, internet or gadgets that the children are glued to these days. Our 'social media' was playing outdoors with friends in the neighborhood, we all knew who was who in the neighborhood. Kids nowadays are missing out on their childhood, being outdoors and having fun.. being a kid.
