    HTH are from the generation of Aussie Hop Artists which grew up listening too and shaped by the "Conscious Rap" artist's groups from the early 90's - KRS-One, Public Enemy, Pete Rock + CL, Poor Righteous Teachers, Del the Funky, X-Clan, De La, Tribe called Quest, Talib Kwali, Brand Nubian, Jeru, Nas, early Ice Cube etc (many more) etc. Hence 'Golden Era', hence a track needs a 'Message', hence 'Funk' + 'Boom Bap'. All with an Adelaide twist.

      Spot on comment right here couldn’t explain it better… these old heads of AusHop are Stoics in my personal opinion 🤙 the new age are good but I don’t see the push for unity more a violence, violence and violence unfortunately

    A recommendation for anyone diving deep into Hilltop Hoods is their brilliant track "Speaking In Tongues" featuring Chali 2Na. Magic.

    I am a 55 year old alt rock fan that hates rap but the hoods are something that I can listen to all day. Maybe It's the aussie-unique almost singing style and cool stories they tell.

    I also love with Hilltop the variety, as much as hilltop have a style, none of their songs are so similar you'd confuse them. They cover such a range of sounds and topics. They've worked on their craft and experimented and kept learning

    It's not so much "Hilltops" style, but Aussie Hip Hop style in general.
    Aussies have put their own stamp on hip hop and made it their own!
    You can always pick it out, very different from typical American style Hip Hop!

    • @lazy_potato8
      @lazy_potato8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I agree! I prefer our hip hop personally, and can always recognise a song is Aussie hip hop solely based on the sound, without ever hearing it before or knowing the artist/s

    Separates the pain by staying high and though she
    Might just O.D. high price to go free
    This ain't living, listen it's dying slowly
    It's got a hold on me, she can chase that feeling
    This is some of the most powerful lyrics I've EVER heard in music. Pain, rejection, lack of self esteem, addiction, self destruction.
    This is why the hoodies are SO good. Even more if you've seen someone important to you dance with a train or crucify themselves on a needle.

    Besides the transparency issue, love you're reactions bro....but can I ask you look into a way around having to turn the videos invisible...it takes soo much out of you're reactions when we can't see what you're talking about... I see other reactors don't have to make they're reactions transparent on the same songs you do...I dunno why, might wanna check it out.

    You say his style is almost singing....
    Well this is Aussie hip hop and it in my personal opinion is more like this....
    I prefer the HTH, Biss n Eso type hip hop.... not the pure rap bars style

    • @lazy_potato8

      I've definitely noticed that Aussie hip hop is almost singing, I can recognise a new Aussie hip hop group just by listening to a song

    • @AndyViant
      @AndyViant ปีที่แล้ว

      HTH can run the bars too. They'll pull that sh*t when needed just to remind us all they can.
      We have a culture of rap battles here too. But that stuff is making your mark. When you make it to the top you can write your own way.
