I'll soon be having an older doggo become a tripod, knowing that he'll have less issue considering that it's his back leg makes me somewhat relieved. Thank you for making these videos!
Aww.., at 3:04 Otis is getting a doggie face lift. So cute. This is such helpful advice.Otis, Olive and Minnie, r too cute and hugs to Scars. p.s. i don't know how u should up but glad you did!
Great informative video. I have a chichuahua. I adopted her from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay when she was 6 months old. The day she came out of rehab. She just turned 7 in Oct. Best thing I ever did in my life. I take her everywhere I go. The word ," tripod" makes me furious. Its a complete lack of respect. I.do understand its how people identify them as well. Your video explains alot of great tips. There are also a few that I hope others read this comment. Try and keep jumping up and down to a extreme min. The landings are the concern. Try and make or use ramps to discourage jumping if at all possible. Elevated food dish a great tip. Watch the weight of the animal. They tend to be heavier from a less daily exercise. Another great tip.was length if walks. I walk my little girl more frequent at less intervals. Weight is a huge factor. Watch thier diets. I'm guilty of this one. Hope this helps others as well. Merry Christmas! I actually think Tripod is a endearing term. It gives less of a stigma and a fun little nickname to lighten the situation. But yes try to minimize jumping up and down! That's why I mention a step/ramp up to couches and beds. Thanks for commenting and giving a home to a little love!
Hi, my mixed golden is 13 yo and lost her front right leg due to cancer. Please advice how to support her? She already lost alot of weight and eat high quality foods. Lost like 20 kgs or half of her weight :) she's my hero Btw ty for this vid
All my tips can be found in this video and the part 2! As long as she's eating she should recover the weight fine, but if you feel something is wrong please consult a vet. Certain medicines (you mentioned cancer) can cause weight loss.
Thank you so much for these tips. Im adopting a tripod pup... I'm nervous because she is siberian husky / border collie, both breeds are very high energy so I expect she will be. Im hoping to diy a front paw prosthetic for her but if it doesn't work out I'm not sure how to safely get her to expel all that energy
Thank you so much for this video. I just learned that my little angel has cancer. If it has not spread throughout her body, her back leg needs to be removed. Needless to say I’m devastated but I’m curious to know where you get the type of carrier you show in this video? She is 15 pounds and a jack Russell terrier

Thank you, much appreciated!
Glad it helped!
I just brought a 3 legged Chihuahua she is brand new😍 how do I take care of her and keep her healthy and strong?
I reccomend watching this video as well as our part 2! We cover a lot between the two videos.
Other than that treat her just like any other small dog!

I have a tripod video that goes over good activities for them! I suggest a watch for ideas
Instead of tripod, how about tridog! 🤣🤣
I think that dogs are so cute!!! Otis is so cute l!!
That's such a cute name! Although I didn't come up with tripod! It's actually a common term for three legged dogs. :)
They call them Tripawds.

I've worked with large dog tripods as well and all the same information applies!
