Use a proper upscale for better performance is what you should have mentioned, FidelityFX CAS: This, uh, isn’t actually an upscaler. It’s a sharpening filter that for some reason is in the upscalers section of MW2’s settings, and while it doesn’t look bad, it actually cut average performance from 70fps to 65fps. I wouldn’t bother with it.

I personally highly recommend to put all settings on low and off, and then create a private match. Try to play with settings so this way you ll have better understanding what they do. Everyone's preferences and monitors and are quite different and remember there are settings that gonna make the game look a lot prettier without stealing tons of fps.

Dont set your max fps to just max, set it to either your monitors refresh or your average fps. You'll have a more consistent frame time and itll make the game feel smoother
okay but theres ups and downs to this. If your monitor has a lower refresh rate, like mine does, and your pc can reach much higher frames, then go with the second option. Just find an fps thats stable with your gameplay and set it to that, or maybe even set it lower if it helps. If you keep it at something thats higher than what is stable, then your frames can be super unstable and cause stuttering in some cases.
Just a quick point about fullscreen. Directx 12 does not work the same way as Directx 11 and they have essentially "fixed" the whole issue with having to run exclusive fullscreen to avoid performance hits. The implementation in 12 is functionally another version of borderless windowed with a checbox marked to keep the cursor within the game screen. It does nothing for performance.

Man it kinda seems like you're not 100% sure/familiar with a few of these. DLSS wasn't mentioned, only FSR which is only version 1.0 which is not anywhere near as good as 2.0. Also you said to leave in game framerate to unlimited, but you should really set that to your monitors refresh rate since you'll get screen tearing and have less consistent framerate if its way under/over you monitors refresh rate. Also you definitely don't have to max out FOV if you aren't used to it. You have better peripheral view but it makes enemies smaller on your screen, and you may want a lower FOV when ADSing.
Besides the frame rate thing you mentioned which I also took note of this was a pretty good guide for someone who has no idea about any of the more intricate settings, I am new to all this so it was pretty helpful.

another good shout is using upscaling to 4k then use DLSS to go back to original res. this will use a really good anti alias and only way to not have TAA. it is for me the clearest image. at almost the same performance.
@@jackt8304 You set the render resolution to 4k then turn on DLSS (regardless of your own screen resolution). Because DLSS will effectively cut the resolution in half. It only looks good on at least 4k resolution IMO. My DLSS is on balanced but you might want performance mode based on your gpu power. I also use DLSR (upscaling setting in nvidia control panel)- hidden under 3D settings>global>DSR factors. instead of the ingame render resolution slider. But in theory any works.

so i was playing around with settings, when i put my texture quality to high i got better fps than low, but normal gave the best for me (4gb of usage) i also noticed that using DLSS gave 40 more frames on my game and also using both nearby and distant detail on high deduced screen tearing. hope this helps. all other settings were optimal tho

When I select fidelityfx cas in the upscaling/sharpening setting it doesn’t save and defaults back to Nvidia image scaling. Haven’t had a prob with fidelityfx in other games. Any suggestions?

I am having an issue where sometimes it seems like I am getting white flashes. Almost like its a texture issue. I have tried recompiling shaders and it helped a little but the issue still persists. The white flashes aren't the monitor going white but just like the map or textures disappear for a split second. I had my issue before this video also which is what led me here. The FPS have definitely gone up though so a like and a sub!

I also had the same problem with white flashes! I solved it by downgrading the nvidia drivers from version 526.47 to the older 522.25 as recommended by nvidia as the latest drivers cause MW2 problems! Just go to device manager, video card properties, drivers, reset driver. Let me know if you too will solve this!

He gave wrong info. If you are running an NVIDIA RTX card you want DLSS. Then mess with the different choices. I am running a 3080, i9 10900k with DLSS at Ultra Performance and I get 190 plus FPS playing at 5120x1440. If I drop down to say Balanced my FPS drops to 140-160. Using FidelityFX Cas, my FPS was around 90. That’s with all of the other graphic settings set the way he suggested. DLSS is WAY better.

I have a gtx 1650 and am able to run 60 fps at 1080p native resolution compared to the 50fps at 720p upscaled beforehand.

For some reason all m ysettings got resetted to ultra and i didnt realize until today. I did start questioning why my fans started making more noise than normal. Thanks for the vid helped me fix my graphic settings again
