Kaimana is such a relaxing spot and less congested than Waikiki. Has a calm vibe. At one time the hotel grilled hamburgers beachside for their guests and it smelled so good. In the 1980's I spotted Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on that beach. You couldn't miss him. Some beachgoers walked up to him. You could occasionally recognize other celebs there who were staying at the hotel.

The strippers and the body builders use to hang at what was then called DIG ME beach back in the 80s and 90s

Grew up there in the 60s. Used to have a small wooden pier on the beach. Summer time was Oama fishing time. Huge schools.

Oh I used to go there in the 70s and only a few locals sunbathed there. I was one of them. Gotta tired of the Ala Moana beach crowd. Back in the 70s always had free parking right near the beach it was called “dig me beach”🤣 because of the cute girls sunbathing and the guys sitting on the short wall checking out the girls🤣 I remember it well. My bf at that time told me the guys were teasingly calling it dig me beach cuz they thought the girls were cool looking!!

I read Kaimana is allowing nude sunbathers, but I have a hard time believing that. Is this true?
