There is one of these on display at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton in the UK... It looks simply lethal for the pilot. I have some pics somewhere.
I’ve seen this kit reviewed before. I think it was on Andy’s Hobby Headquarters when it was set to be released. Cool kit! Thanks for sharing Chris. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Very interesting kit, surprised a company would invest in molds for such a small craft, ergo the 1/16th scale. A bit like a mosquito compared to the Beast you were detailing last, the pilot is superb. Based on submarine launched aircraft like this, that pouch is probably a tool box so the tools for assembly are always ready. With pilot wearing a life vest, in case of emergency, they would cut him lose, he would auto rotate and tread water until the sub could resurface and hunt for him. If you want to get a real kick, see if you can find the movie Where Eagles Dare with Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood and I think Inger Stevens, you will see the motorized version of that model,. a great guy movie and gives you a bit more information on it. Never before have I seen three people defeat the entire German Army. Sikorski's first helicopter looks very similar. Even with bad decals, there is not too much area to put them on. :-) Keep us posted..
I need to rewatch Where Eagles Dare, saw that about 30 years ago I think, thanks I'll check it out! I got the pilot to fit in the other kit, but he needs an ankle-etcomy, aka feet cut off!
The old buy a kit to take the figure out and sell the kit ahhhhhhhhh the oldest trick in the book :) Unfortunately I think there is more figure to this kit than kit :) :) I also watched that video and thought WTF
Hopefully it will work, ive test fitted him in the 1/18 Me 262, he just needs ankles cut off! Hope to see you at QMHE btw - Im competing this year finally! Cheers, Chris
A kit like this unfortunately screams for a pilot, I feel...its my pet hate how kits don't have crew members anymore....that was always my favourite part of modelling when I was a kid.....I feel they make the models so much more interesting.....
Oh yes, its my pet hate too, all aircraft models should have 3 things as a minimum: 1. closed wheel wells, 2. flight stand, 3. seated pilot. Its not an aircraft kit if it doesnt have those, IMO! Cheers Chris
I look forward to seeing a future video of this build.
I think Harry Houdini has his eyes on it, so wait for him to put out one of his waffle pieces!
This would be a great kit to work on. Love to build different subjects steering away from the typical norm now and then..
I think it will be a fun little build, I may even get another one....
That’s a very interesting kit, it’s like a bi-plane helicopter!!
Its certainly quite different isnt it!
Great vid...interesting subject. 👍
Glad you think so! Cheers Chris

I think I saw a picture of one, they look tiny - I wouldnt want to be launching in any crosswinds, thats for sure...
Thank you for the video. Wonder if Hanna Reitsch was involved in it's development. She was big in testing autogiros during her career.
Not sure, she was involved in the first FA helicopter, so its possible.

Thanks Peter, yeah its a very cool kit, Takom is pushing the envelope here...cheers Chris
Really different !
Very different! I wonder how many Takom will sell! Cheers Chris
I bet you are already working out how to do this one 'In-flight'😄. Should be a short but interesting build.
Actually already sold it, minus the figure! But it is tempting...
What a crazy looking Helicopter. lol
I know its nuts - technically not a helicopter but a gyro. Really weird subject from Takom, but there you go...
@@beckersmodels True that lol

Great video my friend just subbed great content 👍👍
Thanks for the sub! Im a bit irregular with my videos, but try to get something out once or twice a month at the moment - cheers, Chris
Can this model technically work? If you expose it to strong winds...
If you don’t want the kit I will take it minus the figure :)
Ruh roh....

@@beckersmodels absolutely 💯.... why did they stop all these things, it makes me crazy
What a weird idea for a kit. It's a pilot attached to a rotary frame tent.
Its a weird aircraft, but they work! Kind of...
